Heyyyyyyy, now I know why "Snow Crashing".

 

But where did you live in Aus? And when?

 

Also, did you ever see JBT do his song Ocean? I gotta say I don't listen to him much but the way he plays that tune is so badass it always sends shivers up my spine and pancreas. There's a whole bunch of live versions on YouTube, like this one - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZd3BQgFpo8

I lived in Brisbane from 2001 to 2004.

I never saw JBT live. But Oceans is epic and that clip is intimidating. I don’t love all JBT music but John Butler is a machine.

I see you’re from New Zealand. I was in Auckland for the staggering grand total of 1 hour and 30 minutes. It’s so sad. I’ve always wanted to pay New Zealand an actual visit.

I know another adult who never learned to ride a bike too, even though he gave it a good try. He'd get in position and get going but at the last moment his mind would yell "NO!" and he'd bail. It must suck, although not as much as not knowing how to swim. I hope you do finally find somewhere with no nutters around to learn to ride though, because it is pretty dman useful and can be a bunch of relaxing fun.

 

Did you ever post any of your films online?

I had a few experimental shorts online when I was trying to get editing jobs. I took most of them down at the beginning of the year. It was part of the great purge to completely erase the remnants of my disappointing editing career. There might still be two uploaded somewhere.

Great blog and you make some very good points.  I never understood the rage some people feel over casting, the whole point of acting is that you should be able to play against you type so instead of picking someone who looks/acts is from the area etc you should just pick the best person for the role.
