Terrific decimation, Mr. Brown. And because I liked this line in the review so much, I'll repeat it here as I did in comments:

"...at frequencies that may very well trigger the growth of murder tumors in all who are exposed."

I dunno why, I just love that line. I'm still giggling.

One of the reasons I would rank this over the usual Sandler piece of shit timewaster (and just barely) is one of the reasons why, paradoxically, I hated it so much. That being that every obstacle feels so incredibly superficial, and at the heart of the movie, there's a pretty nice, content guy. I don't care for James and I don't think he's funny in this, but his character's got a decent job, he's a nice guy, and he loves and cares for the animals. So why does the movie have to stop to making him so incredibly dense as to try to get Leslie Bibb back? Why do they have to dumb him down to make him receptive to the animals' advice to piss in public and scream like an ape?

It almost seems like the movie is, at times, just going out of it's way to make him look bad. Which makes the dubious message - Kevin James is fine just the way he is and shouldn't change for anybody - even more disingenuous, since they give him so many random, heft-related pratfalls that call attention to his relatively innocuous belly. If it's enough of a problem that he falls off everything, can't ever enjoy exercising, and looks out of place amongst others, then the movie is actively stating, yes, he could change for the better in some ways... that fat bastard.

And what's with these movies mocking perfectly normal, fulfilling lifestyles? Being a zookeeper seems like a pretty cool job (especially if you get to hang out with Rosario Dawson). This made the constant mockery of the "male nurse" profession in the Focker movies seem relatively subtle.

Also, kudos in your restraint in not calling out Joe Rogan's absolutely terrible villain performance. Every laugh line he had was greeted by the packed audience with complete silence.

No restraint. Forgot motherfucker was even in it, and I was already at 1500 word about Zookeeper.

My poor child. I took my family and 2 other kids to this P.O.S. movie. Why was this movie marketed to children? The talking animals were rarely in the movie. The 3 kids were bored out of their mind and I think I laughed only once or twice through the whole movie. Honestly, the movie did a good job in being a clean movie for the children, but what kid wants to watch a date movie?

Awful awful film. Well written review.
