Most Anticipated Horror Films of 2002...

Lay 'em out here. I know, I know. A lotta ya are really getting all goosepimply over 'Halloween 8' and 'Jason X'. I'm getting kinda jazzed for 'Eight Legged Freaks'. And though I've seen it, 'House of 1000 Corpses' goes without saying too. I'm really interested to see what Zombie has done between the rough cut and the reshoots. Here are a few more...

'Frailty' looks really interesting.

'Fear.com': anything from Bill Malone has my attention.

Dreamworks' no-doubt butchery of 'Ring': just so my anger for remakes can build.

And, of course, 'Ghost Ship'. Stupid-ass title but I really dig what those cats at Dark Castle are working up.

Oh, and finally, if it ever gets a distributor: I'm really curious about this 'Tooth Fairy' a.k.a. 'Don't Peek' flick.

Tooth Fairy has me interested as well... the action figure from McFarlane is has a nice design, though I'm not expecting anything original from the flick.

and just like you, Mr. Rotten, I'm also feeling a macabre anticipation for the trainwreck that the RING remake will no doubt be....

Eight Legged Freaks looks great.

I'll be a happy camper if House of 1000 Corpses finally makes it to the screen this year. Besides that I'm looking forward to Eight-Legged Freaks the most, and the trailer to Jason X has got me hyped to see it. Hopefully there's something out there I haven't heard of yet and it'll come out of left field and really take me by surprsie. I love it when a movie can do that.

Fear.Com - Malone's follow-up to HOHH. Like I'm going to miss this.

House of 1,000 Corpses - If it ever comes out in Wichita, I'll be first in line.

Eight Legged Freaks - Giant spiders and Kari Wuhrer. Yes, and YES!

Ghost Ship - Like Ryan, I'm really digging the Dark Castle flicks.

Ring - I didn't care much for the original version. Maybe I'll enjoy the American remake.

Dagon - Whenever the hell Fantastic Factory puts this baby out in the states, I'll snatch it up like a crack whore with the shakes.

And what the hell, I'll say Frailty, too.

Fear.com I want to see - whenever they choose to release it, though I hope to see it on the big screen.

I'm kind of looking forward to "Below," just to see if it has any good supernatual goodness.

I know it'll be crap, but I'm still looking forward to "Sabretooth," same as that bigfoot movie with Lance Henriksen.

I doube if it'll hit this year, but I am looking forward to "Willard" and "The Sin Eather."

Halfway looking forward to "Vampire: Los Muertos" though I know it'll be crapola.

Just barely looking foward to "Hitcher 2: The Prey," but I'm really hoping somebody did something with "Hellraiser: Hellseeker" (namely Rick Bota) and brought the franchise out of the shithole "Inferno" dropped it in.

"Ghost Ship" is Dark Castle, so I'll always hope that's a winner.

And yeah, "Dracula: Resurrected" will likely be crap, too, but here's hoping it's at least worth watching once.

Finally, it may not hit this year, but that David Lynch-produced pic, "Cabin Fever" that KNB's doing the effects on, I really want to see, too.

Rob Zombie was in my home town last thursday and played some of 1000 corpses on the big screen behind him. He said they are between distributors debating about an R or an NC-17 rating. I say NC-17 and put it out on DVD now!
Fraility looks interesting too.

Aside from "ELF", "Frailty" looks pretty cool. "Below" and "Ghost Ship" sound interesting as well.

Eight Legged Freaks

Frailty

Jason X

Hall8ween: Homecoming (Yes, I know it will be terrible, but I'm a "Halloween" junkie)

Does Signs count? Too high-brow? That film may in fact be shaping up to be my most anticipated of the Summer (yes, including AOTC).

'Eight Legged Freaks' will be a damn fun movie, despite Arquette

'Frailty' looks kick ass, and I'm really pissed we didn't get more coverage on it ahead of time.

'Fear.com', after reading Straxboy's script review (<a href="http://www.creature-corner.com/reviews/feardotcomscript.php3" target="_blank">here</a>), sounds like a very, very cool movie.

'Below' because Twohy is, if nothing else, an interesting filmmaker.

I'm with Jack on 'Willard', if it's done this year.

'Final Destination 2'. The first one was a great surprise, and it sounds like they're heading down the right track for the sequel.

'Exorcist 4'. Despite all the bad things I've said about it, the cast and director (and Jack's script review) give me some hope.

'Death Island', the new zombie film from Tom Savini that should be done filming by the end of '02

I'm sure there's more...

My thoughts:

I'd pay 8 bucks to see Michael Myers kick Busta Rhrymes' ass.

I'll buy House of 1000 Corpses when it finally comes out for $17.99 at Best Buy.

I'll watch Dagon when it's released straight to video sometime in 2008.

Vampires 2 gets my money only Bon Jovi joins The Texas Toad Lickers on the theme and Nattie Gregson Wagner gets nekkid.

I'll toss Paxton some greenbacks for Frailty when it hits DVD. I say that cause there's no way it'll open in a theatre near me. But if it does, I'll go.

Since my baby's momma Jet Girl is starring in the Ring remake, it's already better than the original in my eyes.

And since Signs' big plot twist probably has Gibson being either dead, superhuman, an alien, or a shitkicking hybrid of all three...no.

Which leaves 8 Legged Freaks.

Sorry but I refuse to pay money to see any movie starring David Arquette or Kari Wuhrer, let alone both...
