Old Tales From the Crypt

Just saw this on HBO Zone today. GREAT anthology movie from like 1972. I remember seeing this as a kid with my parents at a drive in in Arizona. I noticed that during the day Showtime beyond and Extreme play A LOT of the Roger Corman classics from the 60's. I also caught The Huanted Palace with Vincent Price.

I LOVE this film! Each segment is great, and there are some terrific performances. It's campy, but it's fun. I've been waiting forever for this to come back into print, even on VHS. Glad someone else has seen it, I was beginning to think my sister and I were the only ones. My favorite segment would have to be "Blind Alleys." Great cast - Ralph Richardson, Joan Collins and Peter Cushing, to name a few.

Yeah, I got this movie right around the time when Gladstone was reprinting Tales from the Crypt, and I still watch it today.

I still feel so damn bad for Peter Cushing. That poor old man with only his dogs and a small plant. Believe it or not, when I think of Peter Cushing, that's one of the first roles that pop into my head.

Classic stuff, and very faithful to the comics- in many cases, literal shot-for-shot adapations. Also be sure to check out the sequel, Vault of Horror.

Pretty good. I usually skip the Home for the Blind segment. It just seems so impossible and silly.

Oh, and why doesn't the wife just sell the Monkey's Paw statue to her friend, so he can wish her husband out of his death state? Blah!
