Nick:
This interview was a delight to read, and you perfectly summed up why this show is so special: it's never spinning it's wheels, it's always on the move. So many other shows would be content to stretch the circumstances in which BB's characters find themselves in a given episode out for a season or more, and yet on BB the people are always evolving, along with your perceptions of them
I read this just now, but as I dove into BBS3 on INSTANT the past few days, I attempted to explain to my mom what it was about BB that made it different, and that sense of momentum is how I was best able to sum it up
Cranston seems like one cool dude, and speaking as someone who saw him on MALCOLM (I've seen most of that show's run), found him funny, but thought that was all he brought to the table.... the journey of BB has been eye opening in more ways than one
So cool to see him get recognition, and hope he continues to go places long after this show has come to it's TIMELY end (I agree it would be an absolute crime to stretch it out for one episode longer than the story requires - MAD MEN, on the other hand, seems to advance forward at a snail's pace, if at all. AMC's favorite child, IMHO, is 90% filler. Matt Weiner has laughably gone on record saying he's happy to keep the show around as long as people are interested - as in, as long as there is money in it. Vince Gilligan is the real deal)

Just started watching this, and being introduced to the acting kaiju that is Bryan Cranston. (I never caught Malcolm in the Middle.) Fine interview, boss.
