In the end they were dead all the whole time.

Now, seriously, this series is about an island, time travel so... And Jorge Garcia is back. One of the writers is Lost alumni Elizabeth Sarnoff.

It looks good according to http://www.slashfilm.com/comic-con-alcatraz-review/

Just in case, I said it first here: they were dead all the whole time.

When I hear "Alcatraz" I think YEAH CRIME, CRIMINALS, VIOLENCE, ACTION, MORALITY, CONSEQUENCES!

And then I see this trailer and it's like LOST, MYSTERIES, MYTHOLOGY, TIME TRAVEL, FORESHADOWING, FAT GUY, PROCEDURAL!

So, already off on the wrong foot with my deeper interests. Boo.

Criminal of the week could bring some weekly gore.

I have to say I really respect this Abrams... He finds scripts he likes,  goes "Uh, put my name on that one!" and suddenly people are calling it his show. If I was one of the actual creators I'd be planning his murder.

Yeah but on the flip side having Abrams name attached to your script puts it on the top of the pile at any network it goes off too and I'm sure they're compensated nicely for their work.  It's not like anyone gave J.J. all of the credit for LOST after the first season and nobody knows who Cuse and Lindeloff are.

That's where you're wrong, I know a good deal of people who don't know Cuse and Lindeloff and think Abrams was the main man behind all of Lost. They see Abrams and automatically associate him with the series and that's it, even with me telling them that Abrams barely had a hand in the show after a certain point the continue on with that belief.

And I'll give the show a chance but if I get a season in a half into the show and it follows the Lost trend of just dropping mysteries I'm out.

Who though?  Random guys or guys that work in the TV industry?  If it's about the name pulling attention to the next project to get made, I think that Cuse and Lindeloff have some recognition in that area among people that can help get their projects made.

I was talking about people who watch the shows, not the people in the business. Looking back it seems like Moonrocket was talking about the latter. My bad.

This show actually looks better than I thought it would be.  The premis is kinda cool, that you have 300+ of the worst criminals of their time suddenly coming back for some reason and you need a special team to track them down and stop them, with a larger conspiracy/mythology at play.  The idea that we could have an Al Capone criminal mastermind in the modern day is kinda a cool concept, lol.  Hopefully Jorge Garcia doesn't just play Hurly again in this show, but I'm guessing that's pretty likely.
