Get introduced to Bilbo's 13 companions!

Love Jackson showing his Bond geek side there at the beginning. So wish EON would let that happen, even ifit was one stand alone, throwback Bond film. i mean it would be so worth it. Sort of like seeing Spierberg do one.

Still, great stuff there.

"You poor miserable buggers."

Yes! More! More! We gots to have more!

Please tell me part of the production didn't move to Pinewood so that Lee could easily play Saruman again. Because if it happened I'd have to fly to NZ and give Jackson a hug. Lee is looking really frail lately and I'd hate it if someone else played Saruman in this.

Did you get to the end of the video yet?

I'm not the biggest LOTR fan but these vids are a bloody joy. Why don't more studios do these?

This is better than any of the big summer movie trailers we got this week.

IT'S SARUMAN!!!

Oh my. It just looks...like so much fun. I know it's long hours and full of misery and you're in makeup for like...8 hours so you can shoot for two minutes, but oh, LotR were the films that made me go 'Yeah! I wanna do that!' and these little videos are the reasons why.

The dwarves look great.

Nobody wanted to invite Thorin over to dinner? I figure he'd be the best one for such an occasion.

I was already very excited for The Hobbit, but this officially put me over the top. I just. Can't. Wait.

Third!? I didn't realize there was a second! And according to the second video, Andy Serkis has graduated to 2nd unit director. Interesting.

Elrond, Galadriel... Hugo and Cate must have some actual elf blood in em, cause those fricking pointy-ears ain't aged a day.

I want to run away and live with this production.

Better book your ticket to the land of the long white cloud Stelios, because that is exactly what they did. Lee was too frail to fly to New Zealand, so they came here.

I'm also very curious as to why Galadriel is, apparently, in Rivendell during The Hobbit.

I don't know...

Remember the last time Jackson spent his spare-time bullshitting on cutesy video blogs? Yeah, King Kong.

The first Hobbit video diary was great for rekindling the nostalgia of going back to Middle Earth and just the fact that after the years-long bullshit with MGM's money woes, losing del Toro and so on that the movie was finally happening. Second one was OK about everyone taking from a break from the three or four long blocks of filming they have scheduled. But this one? Eh.

Which turned out pretty good if I remember correctly.

The White Council vs. the Necromancer stuff from the appendices I guess.

Either way, it's Kate Blanchett as Galadriel. The only appropriate response to this is swooning.

I think it's the White Council.  The brief bit with Lee has green screens cut in the shape of the Rivendell set behind him.  It looks like they are going to splice in his takes with the rest of the Council scene filmed in NZ.

I just wonder if they are going to have the White Council take place at the same time Gandalf arrives in Rivendell with Bilbo and the dwarves for convenience sake.
