Nothing wrong with this flick, as you said in the review it's one of Fords last good performances.

Yeah, pretty damn decent flick. I love Oldman in it, though. He's gorging on some scenery, but he's so damn good here. Only that man could've gone from how subtly brave and melancholy he is when talking about his country and his own kids, to him having a complete aneurysm when he finds out they havent caught Ford yet, to that pitch perfectly awesome "Sorry, I lied."

I disagree with it being Ford's last good peformance (for me, that was in the shaky "The Devil's Own," because IMNSHO, Ford did a good job NOT being Indy/RotJ-era Solo and was believable as a working class cop); he was basically coasting/riffing on his Indy/Solo/Ryan persona. That said, Oldman's always fun to watch in villain mode and it's an enjoyable enough action film....until the end.

The renegade Secret Service agent is fucking out of nowhere. And we're given exactly zero reasons for a man whose among the most trusted guards the president has to turn coat. Nothing. It could have easily been fixed by a couple of lines of dialogue. But it comes across as very deux ex machina, lazy filmmaking, and for me, the film just collapses in on itself because of it.
