Eureka... IN SPACE!!!!

Haven't seen any thread on the new season of Eureka, so I thought I'd start one.

We're three episodes in, and have been getting a lot of Fargo Awesomeness this season.  I like how the writers are able to make him a competent leader of GD and yet, he still manages to fuck stuff up on a pretty regular basis.  Him and Zane being blasted into space was classic, and the new FTL drive is a great plot device.  Oh, and then Fargo rocking out to Eye of the Tiger to get all pumped up was amazing!  The long shot of everyone watching him rock out in his office was hilarious.

Having Felicia Day guest star is great too.  She's a joy to watch - even if she is just playing the same character from The Guild, lol.  Oh, and Stan Lee's cameo as the scientist doing research into Gamma Radiation was classic.

Zane and Jo's relationship seems to be reheating, which is good.  Especially if Zoe somehow comes in and pursues Zane some more.

Allison's "mind-jacking" at the hands of series nemesis Dr. Barlowe is interesting, especially now that Carter knows Allison is some type of security threat.

And Ming Na as the Senator in charge of Eureka's purse strings... I'm wondering if she's going to come back later in the season as some type of big bad?

Over all, its been a fun season so far.  Looking forward to the rest of it.

I've always found Eureka to be quality cheese with surprisingly likeable characters. Ever since last year's James Callis plotline, the show has had renewed energy. It's probably SyFy's best show, for whatever that's worth.

Really interested to see where they take Allison's story line. I could totally see a cliffhanger finale where Carter has to shoot her to save GD and the Town.

And yeah it was a little over the top but the Stan Lee cameo was fun.

This has always been a reliably entertaining show for me. Once in a while it even edges towards being great. I love that they've stuck with the time travel shake-up and dropped the love triangles (for the most part). The cast works well together and the writing staff seems reinvigorated.

It's not one of the best shows on TV, but it's definitely one of the most fun.

Carter was a lot of fun to watch this episode.  Him screaming like a girl at how high up he was when getting into the bank was great.  As was his joy over getting a "bank robbery" and then finding out its not your typical robbery, lol.

The Fargo love triangle is cute, but it can also be annoying.

The Zane/Lupo stuff was pretty good this week.  I like Zane's "show them what they're missing" mentality about his criminal record.

Evil Allison is a nice touch.  I was wondering what those microbes in her brain were gonna do, and now we see that it allows Dr. Barlowe to control her completely.  It was also nice to see that the "Boson Field" (or whatever was making things float) was the reason Allison was having time lapses, because it seemed like it would be a piss-poor way of staying "secret" if your puppet kept wondering why they were blacking out.  But it looks like Evil Allison will be making a play to take over GD next episode.  Good stuff.

Ferguson's physical comedy skills are pretty fantastic.  The bit with the gravity enhancer gizmo that he clicked on without knowing it was on full blast had me rolling.

The show is really hitting on all cylinders this season. So far the only story I could care less about is the love triangle with Fargo and even it isn't horrible.

Pretty good episode tonight. Although I would have liked to at least get a tease of what Beverly got away with.

Oh...and fuck you SyFy...

It's not surprising. The scifi channel is awful, moves shows around like a dart-wielding monkey controls their schedule, and has contempt for the audience that their name implies they serve. Frankly, I'm amazed they gave it 5 seasons, they must not have realized it was good!

It'll also allow me to delete the scifi channel from my DVR, something I've been wanting to do for years...

Wow.  Now that was a great season finale!  Probably one of Eureka's best.  Lots of humor, good relationship development between the characters, and a great twist ending.  It's too bad this show is ending because it just keeps getting better.  (In fact, I think they could probably make a spin off series based on the space mission!)  The preview for the final season was pretty cool (especially with Jack and NAKED Jo (its about time btw)).  And the Christmas episode looks hilarious.

I'm okay with it ending. It's been on a while, and going out on a high note is a good thing. At least they get to do a finale, that's more than I'd expect from the shit channel they're on. I'll be very interested to see what some of the cast and writers do next. Colin Ferguson is pretty terrific.

Damned cliffhangers!

Really enjoyed the finale. I think the last couple of seasons have been my favorite of the show's run. At least it's getting a proper send-off.

Ferguson is so awesome in this show, loved him constantly refering to Fauxbama.

And really I hate that they phased out Taggert. Wish they'd make him a regular again.

Pretty good finale, saw the twist coming a mile away though. And I really hated that cover of Rocketman over the closing montage.

Gotta know that Beverly is the one that has the ship and crew, she did mention planting a computer virus to one of the guys helping her.

I really wish another network like USA or ION or someone like that would pick this up and keep it going. It's too good a show to let it get away. Especially when Wearhouse 13 is so far up it's own ass it's just not that good anymore.

I'd say when Warehouse 13 gets into the "Artifact War" stuff, it's pretty damn good.  Its the stand-alone episodes that are hard to watch.  The Zombie one was definitely a bit of a borefest when it should have been awesome.

And I second how awesome Furguson is.  His comic timing is great, and he can pull off the hero stuff as well.  I love how its been six seasons and he still needs people to give him dumbed-down explanations of stuff.  And when he ran out of the room after getting advice from Henry and shouted "Don't say theoretically!" I couldn't help but laugh.  They also had a nice throwback to all the seasons where pretty much every incident that happened in Eureka had to do with Fargo pushing a wrong button.  lol.

It was good to see Taggart again, but honestly, his character really had nowhere to go.  I almost wish Alternate Timeline Taggart would have been far more different than the old Taggart.  Maybe more of a PTSD type guy or something.  I don't know.  I honestly haven't missed him much.
