It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia...Season 7 - Page 3

This is rapidly turning into my favorite season of the show, with the Shadynasty episode the only dud. If DTV removes the channels mid-season, I will be quite pissed.

Q: "Dennis is asshole. Why Charlie hate?"

A: "Because Dennis is a bastard-man."

Frank The Rules-Lawyer was some great payoff, despite his team still losing the game.

(Also, was anyone else hoping for an intra-gang "Flip-a-Delphia" deathmatch at the very end?)

Loved last night's episode. Nailing the game board to the bar, lol.

As a DirecTV customer, it's really special when an FX crawl comes up on the screen painting DirecTV as greedy, simultaneous with a DirecTV crawl on the screen placing blame on Newscorp. I can only assume that both corporations are greedy, and the customers are stuck in the middle. I've seen many people quick to blame DirecTV without question, saying they will cancel DirecTV if FX is lost. But how is that a solution? A year ago the Newscorp / Dish Network agreement expired, and Fox channels were lost from Dish Network for weeks until an agreement was made. Anyone who switch from Dish to DirecTV at that time? Well they are seeing another rate dispute this year as Newscorp and DirecTV try and come to a new agreement.

Frank: Why are you nailing it to the bar?

Dennis: about halfway through mac will get mad and try to flip the board

Mac: hes right its probably for the best

I love this episode.  The board game was a board.  Mac and Charlie's sad little action figures.  The whole game came out of a giant footlocker they had stashed somewhere in the bar this entire time.  Team photos.  Cheese'm'crapes!!!  In level 2, the other team counts.  Frank flipping a coin and slapping on his fat little forehead.  All magic.

I want an episode to see Dee's emotional battery.

Love that Mac awknowledges he will forget the board is nailed down and try to flip it.

Frank walking around covered in flour and cake mix was hilarious.

But for me just the description of Dee's emotional battery is enough "she cried for like two months, I think she tried to kill herself"

Even though Shadynasty was the low point of the season, it was still good. This still has a ways to go to top seasons 3 and 4 but it's getting damned close to being in the discussion.

I must play Chardee McDennis stat! My favorite bit has to be the classy wine and cheese followed by the death metal war dance before each new level. Holy shit, that had me rolling!

I feel so alone regarding the quality of the show's previous seasons.  Up until season 6 started, I thought this show got worse and worse each year.  I adored season 1, really liked 2 and then it was downhill for me.  3 was meh, 4 was not good and 5 was awful.  I loved season 6.  This one is pretty good.  Ultimately, I fell in love with the show because it was taboo and racy, and starting with season 3 it just got silly and slapstick.  Instead of pretending to be pro-life so they could screw chicks, they tried out for the Eagles.  I suppose it tried to get more topical and address current events, and for me that never really works.  I personally feel like it was the introduction of Fred Savage as a director.  IMO, he has directed some of the absolute worst episodes of the series.

In the end, I think there are basically two camps.  Those that prefer the first two seasons (and 6), and those that prefer 3, 4 and/or 5.  I could be way off, but this is my experience with those that I know who watch it.  It seems that there are not many people in that former camp...

I love them all!

I like when Frank runs over all excited to give Mac and Charlie high fives or fist bumps or whatever when he gets excited.  He kind of just throws his elbows up and hits them all awkwardly.  Always cracks me up.  He does it when he's allowed to join the Chardee MacDennis game, and he does it another time when he gets bailed out during the "Recession" episode.  I'm sure he's done it a few other times, but I can't remember.

I love Frank.

Frank's giggly enthusiasm during Chardee McDennis killed me. I also loved all of the little asides the gang used in place of profanity. At one point I heard Dennis yell in anger, "Bedsheets! Sheets on a bed!"

CHEESE AND CREPES!

This week was less consistently hilarious than Chardee MacDennis, but I enjoyed it a lot. The old woman who collects hair killed me, but the expressions Mac and Dennis had at the end really put this episode over the top for me. I fear for V-Neck, Tall Mac, and Wider Dee.

(I'm not sure if V-Neck's group were actually supposed to be counterparts to Dennis, Mac, and Dee but I feel it's possible. I guess it's more likely, however, that there are just a lot of chubby guys with facial hair and skinny blonde women in the US.)

Terrible episode last night.  I found it very annoying.  Frank's video almost saved it, but I was very disappointed.  I had just watched the new South Park before, so maybe I wasn't in the right comedic mood.  Either way, I won't be revisiting this eopisode.

Man, that whole Dylan storyline kept going to such weird-ass places. Loved it.

Really liked it. Franks video just put it over the top. Loved Charlie and Dennis describing the rape, loved the old woman who collects hair. Loved the call back to Doctor Mantis Toboggan.

Fantastic episode.

Very enjoyable - I laughed so hard at this one!  I hope this momentum keeps up through the rest of the season!

Yeah, this episode was hilarious. Loved how Mac and Dee's adventure got weirder and weirder. It figures that Dee would have had internet sex with an old lady who pretends to be dudes. The callback to Dee's aversion to old dying people was great when her gag reflex kicked in. Also, Dennis and Charlie being incredulous that the gin bar owner couldn't figure out who they were looking for based on the description "douchey shusher with almond eyes" had me rolling. As was there attempt to shush him and failing because he spoke in short sentences. Frank's "virus" video was icing on the cake. I didn't get the ending though. Why did Dennis ask Charlie to lock the door to the bar?

Because the shusher came in (because they had no sign) and they were going to do unspeakable things to him.

Oh, I didn't even catch that it was the same guy! Thanks for the info.

It confused me for a second too, they spend a lot more time describing the guy than they do showing him on screen.

With the latest episode, Dennis has gone full-blown crazy this season. I'm starting to wonder if his kidnapping at the beginning of the season knocked one of his screws loose. If this season has him killing/burying someone, then that would be pretty great.

After the D.E.N.N.I.S. episode, there was no doubt Dennis was full blown crazy.

Charlie used to be my favorite. Dennis is now my favorite. That is one dark, sadistic motherfucker. I can only imagine what he did to the shusher at the end of the last episode.

A rude hag shushed my friend's 8 year old daughter at the ballet today during intermission! I almost went Dennis on her.

Do you guys think The Gang will eventually be responsible for somebody's death? I mean, I think the show, if it wants to keep topping itself, is going to come to that point. In the premiere they already ditched a body in a hallway without ceremony*, Frank left that dog-hole in Cricket's throat, and let's face it, guys, the Shusher was probably locked in the Y2K bunker without food or water.

*except for Frank's eulogy of "You were a good whore."

Frank already killed his rival's daughter in "Hundred Dollar, Baby". Or do you mean an intentional death? If so, they are too stupid to actually do it. They fuck up every plan they've ever had.

Did the female boxer actually die? I mean, paralyzed, certainly, but I don't think they said she was dead, especially since the equivalent role in Million Dollar Baby isn't killed by her injury.

You bring up a good point; I'm shocked that there hasn't been an episode entirely about the gang trying to murder somebody and failing miserably (unless I'm forgetting one). In my post, though, I meant more along the lines of being totally responsible for somebody's death through their ignorance/apathy, rather than actually trying to kill somebody. If they're trying to do it and succeed, even if it's a terrible person it becomes a show about five murderers, which is a fuckin' bummer.

in "Mac is a Serial Killer", Dennis and Dee attempt to get into the head of a serial killer by becoming serial killers themselves.... "painter" and "psycho clown"

they try and "hunt" the waitress.....it doesn't go as planned....probably due to Dee's squeaky clown shoes.

I think two things are inevitable by the end of this series: They will directly murder someone, and they will themselves die.

Honestly, killing everybody off is the only way you can end this series.  Although it won't happen, it would be amusing to open next week's episode with the gang having killed the shusher and his companions, and then subsequently trying to dispose of the bodies.

I was kind of joking when I said that the Shusher was going to be locked in the Y2K bunker, but thinking about it, I'm now fully expecting a ragged and emaciated Shusher to make an appearance locked in the bunker at some point in the future.

There was already a Russian roulette death.

Can i be the first to say it?

That was truely AWEFUL!

OMG what did i just watch?

...You thought it was aweful awful? It was minor (not something like Invincible, or Chardee MacDennis), perhaps, but I thought it was hilarious. Just a very solid episode based on a funny situation.

"I'll whip that little bitch in the face if she makes a peep!"

You will be the first and last to say it, if I've judged this forum well. I thought that was one of the stronger ones this season.

Mac's hat. Mac's chip protection. Mac's face in general. Mac going for drive-through. Frank and the whip. Frank threatening to whip the kid. Frank whipping the vase. Dennis' fragile mental state throughout. Dee using the bathroom. The constant references to escalation. The family being Asian was a twist of epic proportions. Lots to laugh at.

It wasn't a classic episode but it was really funny.

And I love how they didn't really explain why they thought that vase was so valuable.

From what I gathered, Dennis read a newspaper story to them, and whipped them up into a frenzy, with the gang filling in the blanks with the plot from Raiders of the Lost Ark?

I was slightly confused at first because the exposition for the situation was breathlessly whispered, but once I caught up with the ep's conceit, I liked it a lot. Oddly structured, maybe, but really funny. I laughed hard at the way a frustrated Mac spat out his words when arguing with Charlie.

Absolutely loved Dee driving a wedge between Charlie and Mac.  Brilliant in its simplicity.

Between all the Indy stuff and the ET gag, it sort of felt like Spielberg week on the show.

that was classic....."Charlie.....how come Mac always gets to push the button?"......then the look that Charlie gives Mac....

Mac stole the episode. Everything he did or said was magic. Heck, just the image of him in the get-up was brilliant. And Frank...between the stuffed animal ET homage and his obsession with the whip I was sold. I also dig the whole subplot about how Southerners are gun toting lunatics, only to find out the family was Asian. And what was with all the Jay Leno tickets? Fun ep.

"Dee, you are nothing but a liability. You have a loud voice, your breath reeks, nosy."

"We should not make plans based on dumb movies!"

"Indiana Jones is a dumb movie?"

"Well, I liked the first one..."

"What about your speech about 'I have the grace of a falcon and I'll be in and out like a demon's whisper.'?"

"Dude, you stood up on your chair in the restaurant and said that speech to everyone!"

"It was a very persuasive speech. I know."

"I have an idea. She's killing Leno. She's still upset about the whole Conan thing!"

Brilliant episode. Mac at the drive-thru killed me. "They'll be out of business in a week's time!"

Frank's whip > Frank's gun

Mac's attempts at a swedish accent was so funny. That and the fighiting over the chips.

Mac really was the MVP.

Frank's whip > Frank's gun

I loved when Frank started whipping the whip as he left the mom's bedroom to check the girl's room and almost smacking himself in the face, followed by Dee and Dennis' look of  concern ("We really shouldn't have let him get that whip." )

I actually agree with jstraw80.  I found this episode a bore.  I was both annoyed and amused that there was no backstory, but ultimately, it just didn't do much for me.  Several of us watch this together every week and this is the first episode of the season that pulled no more than a quiet chuckle out of anyone.  *shrug*

I thought it was the most consistently funny episode of the season so far. The Indiana Jones exchange was hilarious, with Charlie defending Temple of Doom.

Well, if Charlie had wanted chips he should've gotten them at the hamburger place!

It's amazing how differently people view certain episodes.  Just goes to show you how everyone's taste is different.  I thought the Anti-Social Network episode was the worst of the season, but most of you disagreed.

I think "Trapped" was the best episode of the season, but many of you also disagreed.  To each his own.

Anyway, I fell off the couch laughing when Frank started tearing the bear apart. "I'm gonna gut this thing!"  his expressions and groans were hilarious.

Dennis:  "That's outrageous!  That's an outrageous amount of noise."

And yes, Mac was the MVP.  I love how he spits up the chips when he gets all fired up for Charlie asking him for a chip.  And how he calls the fast food place both "the hamburger shop" and "the hamburger store".

Frank using the whip to break the vase in front of the whole family sent me over the edge.
