I didn't think Potter was going to be a major player before, but now? I didn't realize that the WB had so many potential contenders. That 9/11 movie and the Clint effort are going to be big dogs. Contagion, I don't know, but it will be helped by being one of Soderbergh's final efforts. Once those critic organizations start handing out awards, however, and they don't get behind Potter, the studio is going to have to make some choices, because there is no way they are paying for four fully-fledged award campaigns. The only way the WB is going to push Potter as an awards contender OVER J Edgar and Extremely Loud is if both of those movies are TERRIBLE and alienating to the Oscar base. Which is possible, though they both seem like ripe Gold Man Bait.
