The snarky agent will provide connective tissue for the MCU in a series of shorts.

This portents of Iron Man/Iron Man 2 double dips.

Hey, that reminds me: The Iron Man 2 Blu had a S.H.I.E.L.D. files archive that had spots open for when there were new agents. Anybody checked that recently? Has it filled in?

Don't really like the character or the actor.  He certainly doesn't seem like a bad-ass secret agent.  He has practically no physicality to him, and he doesn't seem all that intelligent.  The most interesting thing he did in Iron Man was blow a door open with a trinket, a scene that was made even more ridiculous by Paltrow's (I'm assuming) ad-libbed ramblings.

These shorts would be much more attractive to me if it were following a more interesting character.  As it is, I'm sure I'll watch them if I ever wind up with a blu that contains them, but I'm certainly not going to double-dip just to see them.

Yeah, I like the idea of an Agent Coulson, but I'm not really sure what Clark Gregg is going for with this guy. Just seems like a high school superintendent more than some sort of superspy middleman.

He would have been great if Coulson was more like Gregg's character from Sports Night.

I must be in the minority because I actually like the character so this news interests me.

Can't believe the Gregg hate. It is you, my friends, that are the worst! Anyway, I think he makes the most of his pop-ups in these. Glad to see that he'll getting some more space in these shorts.

I like Gregg.

It's a shame he's stuck in all of the most pointless Marvel movie scenes.

I like the character, and frankly, the idea that SHIELD is heavier on bureaucrats than badasses might be a good reason for someone to mount an Avenger Initiative.

I can't remeber the exact line but he lays down a pretty badass threat to Tony Stark in Iron Man 2

That's exactly what makes the character great.  He's unimpressed by what he sees.  Makes one wonder what he has seen that what we are seeing with him he barely registers.

So, are these shorts going to see some sort of webisode formatted release down the road, or are they just going to be stashed on Blu-rays?

The statements initially made by Kevin Feige implied that some of the "One Shots" might end up as theatrical shorts in front of future films, but I'm guessing the ones he was referring to would have superheroes we haven't seen on screen yet................sort of a trial run to gauge whether or not certain C-list characters could make it in their own theatrical outing.  That's how he made it sound anyway.

This short and the other one mentioned just sound like fun little Agent Coulsen anecdotes for BR releases.  I'm cool with both routes, though I'm obviously more interested in the prospect of "one shot" short action films with lower-tier superheroes in them.
