I thought it might be interesting to get a poll going to see which games people are planning to buy this fall, at least as of this point in time.  I tried to include all the major releases within the 20 poll items limit, but I'm still most likely missing something.  If there's a game you want that's not on the list, be sure to remind us of it.

Anyway, let's get voting! Be sure to check all that apply.

Sweet! Either I didn't miss anything, or you guys just didn't want to tell me about it.  Looks like Arkham City and Skyrim are by far the most popular destinations around here. Sounds about right.

Saints Row the 3rd is missing, which is the one i will be buying first.

Apart from Arkham City, not super excited about any of those games.

It's not missing. Saints Row The Third is definitely in the poll, right after Skyrim & Halo Aniversary.

I just remembered, isn't Old Republic Online a Fall game?  I'm planning on buying that.

Ah right, missed that. It's still my number one choice and then Arkham City.

Battlefield 3!

Also very excited for Deus Ex and Red Orchestra 2.

I really wish there was more than seven days of space between  ARKHAM CITY and BATTLEFIELD 3.

Also, I clicked "yes" on RAGE, but that one's really going to be dependent on reviews. I definitely want it to be worth buying.

There's also Goldeneye Reloaded and the Silent Hill HD Collection.

Also, based on the demo, I'm also just crazy enough to have hope for Sonic Generations.

Remember that all the big retailers will have at least one B2G1 sale sometime by November. Rage is not out in September BTW.

Video game release dates are hard to keep up with. I checked a couple of different sites, and it's still too easy to get outdated information. Not to mention how many times games can change release dates due to delays.  Movies are much easier to keep track of.

Speaking of delays, Twisted Metal just got delayed until "early 2012".

That shit was gonna hit a week before Arkham City, right? It's for the best.

Dammit, Justin, stop spreading that crazy hope!

"Deus Ex: Human Revolution" and "Arkham City" are my must haves for whats left of the year (along with WH40K: Space Marine and GOW3); COD and BF3 arent my cup of tea (done with military shooters); as for my "waiting on reviews" pick, its "Dead Island", since the last game by the same development team was the new Call of Juarez, which got shit reviews all over the place.

Also, no Street Fighter 3 HD on the list? Bogus!

Looking forward to Arkham City, MW 3, and Assassin's Creed, but probably won't pick any of them up till there's a price drop.  The next game I'll get on release day is Mass Effect 3

This is the first I've heard about Silent Hill: Downpour. No matter how you feel about Korn, their presence on the soundtrack isn't exactly encouraging.

I'll be picking up Battlefield 3, MW3, Uncharted 3,  Saints Row: The Third, Resistance 3, and Arkham City.

Damn, thats a lot of 3s

Downpour looks more like Alan Wake than an honest to goodness Silent Hill game. But I've enjoyed every Silent Hill game I've played, even Homecoming, and really liked Alan Wake so I'm hoping for something playable.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Homecoming, too. I understand the criticisms leveled against it, but I thought they got so much right that I didn't mind so much. Sometimes you don't want to mess with a winning formula, and it's really unfair to compare every single iteration with SH2, because the series is unlikely to ever redefine gaming as we know it again.

Dark Souls is my only must buy, so I hope they don't mess it up.

I wasn't able to fit the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection onto the list, but I am looking forward to that one as well.

Battlefield 3

Uncharted 3 (Still need to play the first 2)

Arkham City

Knights of the Old Republic MMORPG

40K Space Marine, RE4 HD, Gears 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, MGS HD and Saints Row the Third. Also Modern Warfare 3 at some point, but probably not this year.

Arkham City, Assassin's Creed and the Halo re-release are all maybes.

These, and the Last Guardian are seriously making me consider picking up a PS3 or, at the very least, stealing my brother's (he doesn't have a tv, and is thus not using it.)

As expected, Arkham City is the one-seed.  I am also excited to play Space Marine - no more fiddling about with fourth generation copies.  Right to the first generation copy for me!

That actually hits end of the month. So, technically, it's a summer game.

This is the first I've heard of Korn being involved. But then, I've had no expectations for the soundtrack since Akira Yamaoka said he wasn't.

If that band manages to steal Atticus Ross back from Trent Reznor for a few days, I'm actually okay with it.

Polygon_Wizard, To me there are only...3 games worth picking up.  Otomedius Excellent is arriving on the...X Box 360 only, but KOF XIII and UMVC3 are on PS3 and 360!

September 21st

Otomedius Excellent!  A parody of Konami side scrolling shooters!  That is assuming there won't be...Yet Another Delay!

October 26th

King Of Fighters XIII

November 15th

Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3

Being an id software geek from early on, I can't pass Rage even though it looks weaker than Fallout NV or Borderlands.

I'll take a look at Batman, Deus, Creed, Gears, Warfare and Dead Island when they're cheaper, until then Saint's Row III will take more than enough time.

What about Aliens: Colonial Marines?

Unfortunately I could only add 20 options to the poll, so I couldn't include everything.

Based on that gameplay clip, my hope has been renewed.

Now, I will be renting a shitton of those, but Deus Ex, Bats, Uncharted, Skyrim and Saint's are my only real "Must Haves."  I am really looking forward to playing Space Marine, Rage and AssCreed.

Oh, and Twisted Metal isn't out anymore this year.

Batman for the bone crunching melee and for the fact that they seem to be taking the "everyone liked the first one, lets give them more of that" approach.

Warhammer 40k because FOR THE EMPEROR!

Saint's Row the Third because never has one game brought together microwave laser shooting VTOL's and dildo combat the way this one looks to.

Deus Ex: HR is my wildcard. I really hope it's good, but my faith in this one is based on name alone.

Pre-ordered SWTOR last weekend.  Out in November, or so they say...

Uncharted 3 is the only must buy for me. I played through U2 on hard a month ago and it was still awesome.

I ticked Zelda on the basis it's Zelda. I felt the formula was getting old with Twilight Princess, but if Ninty pull out the stops it could be good.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 could be up for me if it reviews well. I contributed about 50% of the posts to the FFXIII thread.

Batman... the first one was good, but I didn't think it was the revelation everyone else did. I still haven't finished it as it got a bit samey towards the end. Perhaps I'll revist on hard.

Considering how quiet this end of the year has been, it's gonna be flat chat for me from about October onwards. That's when Arkham City comes out and I need to have it finished in time for AC:Revelations, which I'll power through before essentially giving up my social life entirely by purchasing Skyrim and saying goodbye to all and sundry probably though until the new year. Hopefully I'll be finished that in time for Mass Effect 3.

...and if it gets good w.o.m. I may try and fit War In The North in there somewhere.

Whew.

I'm trying a new strategy of not hyping myself for any games, even the ones I would probably like, because there just isn't the time. I know I'll be buying a couple, but I've already got a handful of games to try sitting on my shelf. Dead Space 2, Castlevania, a couple others. I just started dicking around with Borderlands, for God's sake.

Fortunately, this weak game year looks to continue into the fall. After getting devoured by all the great games in 2010, I'll just relish wait for Mass Effect.
