The first official look at Catwoman screeches online.

She looks like she's wearing 3D glasses.

I sure hope that is not her final costume, not that it ultimately matters, I suppose. Probably some pre-Cat duds.

Juile Newmar approves - and so do I.

I don't know about anyone else but I can't see shit except for that visor thing. There's literally nothing to go on.

The behind the scenes shots were a mix of cool and funny, but this is just uninspiring. Although I'm sure there's lots of guys who wish they were the batpod at that moment.

Looks like the Ed Brubaker Catwoman without the cat ears, assuming she has a whip around her waist. Cool, but too little to go on. What intrigues me is her riding the batpod. What's with these villains hijacking Batman's rides?

(Every action heroine worth her salt knows you only wear a nude or pink into combat. Red runs too badly, and requires too much upkeep.)

You need to be a consultant on these movies.  Only you could've prevented Senator Amidala from mindlessly brushing her curly hair!  ("I love you!"  ---  "No, I totally love you!")

The photo of Hathaway looks more like a promotional image for some 3D-glasses-enhanced Batpod arcade game.

She's gonna play the wretched, pinhead puppets of Gotham like a harp from hell !

Whoa, I just checked imdb and Juno Temple is listed as playing Holly Robinson. That's the Holly Robinson that was a 13 year old prostitute in Batman: Year One and then became Selina's eyes and ears on the streets during the Brubaker run.

Huh.

Nolan's real world aesthetic is suddenly not fun anymore.

I liked the way Jim Lee drew her in the "Hush" story line. The cats eye glasses that have night vision thermo scan in them

Anyone have a direct link to the image? I'm trying to keep track of the different URLS/pages WB is using, in the vain hopes of another viral campaign.

I'm intrigued - especially by what we're NOT seeing (the rest of her outfit). Wondering if she'll even be called Catwoman in the film by anyone. And I'm also wondering what's going on with everyone jacking the Bat's rides.

You know what's the worst thing about the hair-combing scene? It's the pearls on the nightgown.  You couldn't sleep in that without waking up to massive craters in your shoulders. And that's only if you slept through the inflamed and angry nerves which would occur ten minutes after you laid down in it, your weight boring each one into your tender skin.

I suppose one could argue Amidala just meant to take it off (kinky!) but I'm pretty sure she's still wearing it when cranky Anakin has his nightmare.

Anyway.  Girls need to be consultants for all of this stuff, it is true.

Maybe it's like the exact opposite of the Princess and the Pea...

Anyway, I couldn't find the image on darkknightrises.com, but there does seem to be a bigger version on superherohype.com.  I think the costume itself looks good.  She's got the zipper in the front, like from the comics, and it is appropriately zipped to the top.  (I have a female Catwoman-fan friend who will be very happy to see that.)  The goggles aren't anything spectacular, but the more I look at it, I think I like the look.

My favorite part of the picture, though, is the piece of the metal arm that you can see that's holding up the bat pod.  I know they couldn't very well get a very good picture of her in motion on the thing, but I kinda wonder if Hathaway would be heavy enough to operate that thing at all...

I had a feeling we were going to get another official photo this week.

There's not anything interesting going on here, though. It's got us talking, but there's nothing to really talk about. It's more a photo of the Batpod than anything else.

Got a feeling she is wearing Bat tech as goggles. Basically Waynetech is leaking out.

Catwoman does not exist in this dojo.

The Batman stuff coming out hasn't been TOO exciting just yet, but in the end, these guys have made it pretty clear that they know what they're doing, so I still have faith we're going to get another stellar entry.

Anne Hathaway.  In a skintight neoprene/leather catsuit.  Kicking ass.

Gentleman, I hereby give this my official Mattioli Grade A Stamp of Approval.

Carry on.

Well, sure.  It's obvious when you put it like that...  (And I think that's the link that superherohype was actually directing to.)

...  Thanks!

Yeah. That's more like it.

The good? You won't confuse her with any other Catwoman. The bad? You won't confuse her with Catwoman period. I don't know, Catwoman has had a number of different costumes over the past 70 years, but I do have to admit that I hoped Nolan would be having just a little more fun with the design here. Whatever, yes it wreaks of his trademark sexlessness, but it's all about the execution. We shall see.

Edit: Oh, shit, just saw those pics Brenner posted. Nice, she's there during the riot, throwing down.

Hathway has nice curves. But this design looks like nothing special to me.

Much prefer it from the side.

I know it defies all logic, but ever since Hathaway was cast as Selina I've been a bit worried about the day we saw her dressed as a cat. I like this.

And for those asking about why she has the batpod, did it not occur that this is probably a teaming-up scene?

Yikes, can't say I'm a fan.  I figured they would tone her outfit down, but take away the Bat-Pod and this could be a screenshot from any of a dozen action movies coming out next year.  Would seem to confirm the rumors that Selina will be less a villain and more an anti-hero/sidekick.  That I'm on board with.

HBO's been running The Town which reminded me how much I was hoping Nolan would go with Rebecca Hall for Catwoman.  I can live with Hatheway, though.

I'm no movie critic, but I know what I hate. And I don't hate this. I would have liked some kind of cat ears thing in the costume design (mostly because I loved Julie Newmar's costume so much), but I figured we wouldn't get that since I can't imagine how Nolan could come up with a practical reason/explanation for them.

Fuck the Catwoman costume, I want her in this jogging shorts the whole damn time.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go watch Love & Other Drugs again...for research...

Yeah, I hope there's more than this to the costume. Otherwise, it could be a still from any of the Underworld movies.

Then again, the first pic of Scarecrow was just a guy in a suit.

I love the literal hair helmet in the stuntwoman pics.

As for the outfit, it works for me.  I don't think they're ever going to refer to her as catwoman in the film, maybe just make some groan worthy pun like "that cat burgling woman" or something similar.

The thigh-high boots and bicep-length gloves are an interesting touch. But otherwise... eh.

They could have at least given her a more interesting hairstyle or something.

I don't see why they wouldn't call her by her name. Nolan has always used the villain names in the movies including Two-Face.

Meh...the costume looks lame but I'm sure it'll be suitably badass within the context of the film. I'd bet that we'll be so engaged with the character that the costume, goggles or no, won't be much of an issue.

Also, the less literal Nolan is with the mythology's animal theme (CATwoman, Penguin, etc) the better.

She has no curves. She's a straight up Cave Bitch.

Huh... I don't hate it.  I'm starting to think this could be a mix of Catwoman and Batgirl.  I don't think there would have been a "correct" way to make her outfit "cat like" and still have it fit within the Nolan universe of Batman.

I'm sure they will have a clever nod to the cat oufit, much like how they brought up Batman turning his head in TDK.

Before you say the outfit sucks, it could be THIS.

as far as the goggles go, I think they are something she is using just for riding the bike.

I mean, women need all the help they can driving, thank God Wayne Industries is on top of that

The helmet is actually a huge improvement...but those are more like mouse ears,

See, I would never notice ANY of that stuff.  The curly brushing was something a few lady friends of mine laughed at when I talked about the movie with them.  They just COULD NOT understand why Natalie Portman wouldn't just tell Lucas how nonsensical the brushing was.

Amidala probably waits until Anakin falls asleep, takes them off, wakes up early, and puts them back on again.  And make-up, of course.

One thing that I can say I LOVE: she's not wearing ridiculous high heel shoes.  Functional boots FTW.

The images of her on the Bat-Pod made me happy.  I don't need to see cat ears, and any sort of Catwoman costume is going to basically be a hot woman in a black skintight outfit.  That's what I see here.  After the disaster that was Halle Berry's outfit, I'll take this and fucking LIKE IT.

agreed... just looking at the manip I posted above, I'm liking this new outfit more and more.

Look closer, that heel is ridiculous.

Speaking as a woman who has boots with wedge heels like those, those wedges are much more functional and comfortable than Halle's high heels.  It's basically like she's wearing combat boots, not Christian Louboutin stilettos.

At least it's not a pointy heel...

EDIT: Too late.

Actually, and I thought of this earlier today, it looks very much like a teched-up instead of sexed-up version the 60's TV show's costume, w/ the glasses standing in for the modest domino mask and minus the ears. The Catwoman design everyone is used to is almost completely lifted from obscure Golden Age superheroine, Miss Fury, anyway. The costume is fine, beyond that it's now on Hathaway and Nolan (who I think has more to prove here than the former, in relation to female characters) to make this character work.

The boots are awesome. Those are definitely things you can run, kick, and drive in. They look comfy!  I want a pair...

I like the design of the batpod, but it really looks uncomfortable to drive.
