Technology rewrites the script

Joe Queenan wrote an interesting piece for The Guardian recently about how advancing tech makes the very premise of many classic movies nonsensical in the modern era. With the find-anyone-anywhere capabilities of a standard smartphone to GPS meaning you're never lost to the unlikelihood of Samara fitting through your iPod screen, it seems Hollywood needs to get more creative to counter the encroaching tech that renders the standard plots ridiculous. So what movies set in today's world have you seen that deftly sidestep or counter our tech's ability to take much of the suspense out of modern living--aside from the "My cell phone has no bars while the serial killer is stalking me" kind?

Enemy of the State, where technology is the means to tracking the hero.

I think THE RING still works today because:

A] Despite being "obsolete", VHS is still readily available and

B] Quaint "defunct" tech is still creepy (see also radio, record players, old cars, etc).

I'm actually more interested in the "futuristic" movies where the date in the film has already passed and proven inaccurate. This kind of devil's advocate game is a bit silly. Might as well hopothesize historical events with modern tech. Oh yeah, that's steampunk.

PRIDE & PREJUDICE would have never been so drawn out because "someone" would have hacked Elizabeth's iPhone and "leaked" noodz to Mr Darcy fairly early on.
