I've spent my entire life priding myself on being up with and having a relativly astute perspective of, american pop culture.

 

But I simply do not understand Perry. I don't get why he seems to be so incredibly popular, I don't understand how we can even be talking about him in the context of getting his own cable station.

 

I simply do not get the phenomenon. At all.
