So long, farewell, auf weidersehen, goodbye

Hey guys,

It's with great regret and sadness that I have to announce I'm also leaving CHUD.  I've got one book review left to do that will be up tonight, but that will be it. I hate to do it. I've enjoyed working here, I've loved interacting with you, and I'm only sorry that finances and exhaustion have prevented me from doing my best here.

I hope we can all stay in touch. I'll pop in and out of the forums if time permits, because I think this may be the last bunch of real humans I actually talk to, save Twitter. :P

Is this site sinking and no one's told me, because it feels like a ton of folks are jumping ship lately.  Do I need a life vest?

Really, really, loved what you brought to the site (your article piqued my interest in, and started a mad search for, this years adaptation of Jane Eyre for one) so it's a real shame to see your unique voice going.

Dammit.

Rappe is aces. This is a major loss.

Goodbye & thank you, madame.

So sorry to hear a strong voice walk off into the sunset.

Thanks for all the fish and best of luck to you in your current and future endeavors!

Sorry to see you go, Elisabeth.

Geez, what's going on here?

Leaving to dedicate more time to your Bradley Cooper tumblr site I assume?

Damn shame, you really were an asset to CHUD. Best of luck in future whatevers

It's funny you should say that, Paul! I got an email today from Bradley Cooper, who tells me he's run into some financial difficulties while filming in Canada.  If I send him my bank account number, he can transfer his money into my account, and then we'll split the proceeds.

It's weird he has a Tiscali email address and spelled his surname with only one O ... but...it's so obviously him, he's testing me. He knew he could come to me!!

So I may be all set!

In all seriousness, thanks guys. Your words mean a lot.  And I'll still be working on Film.com, so you can see my frantic, written-at-4am stuff there.  My work is scattered, but I try to keep Facebook and Twitter updated with links if you're into that sort of thing. :)

Well crap. Take care, Elisabeth. I loved your work.

Well god damn. All the best to you and yours Ma'am.

Damn. Is there even anyone left to close shop now?

And FYI, it is called "Auf wIEdersehen, not wEIdersehen". Which leads to the question of where, because you surely are a voice to follow.

We didn't get along that well, but I still respect your writing.

You were one of the good ones, madam. Good luck out there.

Rappe's left, so that leaves Eileen as the sole taco in this sausage fest.

DIVERSITY! Catch the fever.

Elisabeth Rappe, I am sorry that you are...leaving CHUD.COM!  Good Luck in whatever you do...Next!

Yeah, I really like the voice you brought to the site. You will be missed. Guess I'll have to go check out Film.com. Just wish the name wasn't so hard to remember.

Best of luck.

This makes me incredibly sad.

So long Ms.Rappe, yours was one of my very favourite voices on the net - I look forward to following you wherever your prose may find a home.

Best of luck, Elizabeth.  Your words will be missed here.

Dang, I'm sad now, damn good writer.

Sorry to see you go Elisabeth. You're a damn good writer and you brought a lot to the site. I can only hope I have the privilege of reading more of work in the future.

Best wishes and good luck, Elisabeth. This is a bummer, your intelligent and unique geek voice will be missed.

Well hell.  Bye Elisabeth, and good luck in all that you do.

Enjoyed your writing.  Good luck with everything in the future.

Damn! So sorry to see you go! Always liked your work on the site!

Sorry to hear your leaving, Elisabeth. As I said many times before, your Carrie article made me a fan for life, and I'll read whatever else you post up on facebook or Twitter.

Funniest writer on the site, you always had something buried in an article to make me laugh. You'll be missed.

Really curious about this iffy-looking mass exodus going around here.

Thank you for your hard work , Ms.Rappe, i enjoyed hearing your take on things. I look forward to reading your work elsewhere. As for CHUD itself, I have been here too long give up on it, and damned if Renn isn't trying his heart out. That alone counts for something.

Ever notice how you come across somebody once in a while that you shouldn't have fucked with? That's Elisabeth.

Great writer, and a diehard Clint fan. You will definitely be missed here. Good luck.

Man, you guys! Thanks so much. Considering I felt like everything I wrote was super thin and rushed, it makes me feel really good to know anyone liked it, or laughed along.  It's so awesome. Thank you. :)

Stick around the forums at least. This place needs more estrogen! You'll be missed on the Main Page!

We'll miss ya.

Sad news.  A unique and consistent voice.

Sad face. I want to echo that your Carrie piece was instantly one of the best things on this fine site.

I'll miss you

So sad, you brought a really unique (in a good way) voice to the place.

I still think Bradley Cooper sucks wink.gif

All the best Elisabeth!

Have I missed more people leaving over the past coupla weeks?

Good luck, Elisabeth. Do pop in and see us!

And do stay for the Poppins.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of well-wishers, Ms. Rappe. I'll definitely look for you at film.com. All the best.

Just seen Alex has gone again. For fuck's sake.

Good journey!

Damn, that sucks. Sorry to see you go. Best of luck to you in the future with all your endeavors.

Having a crappy day and  this just made it worse.  Hands down my favorite writer on this site very sorry to see you go.

You always managed to write interesting stuff even when I wasn't interested in the subject matter. You've become my favourite CHUD writer, and it really sucks to see you go. Best of luck in where ever you go next.

This is certainly sad news for us.  Best wishes on your future endeavors!  I'll certainly miss the voice of a fellow geek being on the front page.  (Not to say that the other writers aren't geeks.  I'm pretty sure they are.  But you're unembarrassed by it, which is awesome.)

I'm not on Facebook or Twitter, so, uh...  put a thread up here somewhere and link to your stuff!  Ha

We're definitely sad to see Elisabeth go but wish her nothing but the best of luck no matter whats she does.  And I think I speak for everyone here, reader and staff alike, when I say that there will always be a spot for her on this site if she ever decides to come back.

Just adding my voice to the fray. Wish you nothing but success, and yes, your writing will definitely be missed.

Should we worried about CHUD's viability? It seems like we're losing more than we're gaining lately, both in terms on front page talent and board activity/posters.

There's little for me to say that hasn't already been said, but count me among the many who found your articles refreshing.  Go forth and do great things, Elisabeth.

I, too, have little new to add, save apology for not commenting on your work as often as I should have; you've been my favorite writer at the site for some time now.

I shall greatly miss your Eastwood championing, Rappe.

I have a plan. We need to circulate WWII-style posters as part of the "CHUD Needs Female Voices" campaign.

You got me to finally see 'The Beguiled'.  Thank you for that.
