Hello everybody!?!?!?!

Has anybody heard of anything about the new flick besides the fact that it's being re-written??

ANd since it's being re-written, is it still taking place in a "zombie-infested wasteland"??

Just a couple of questions...

PEACE

It is in turnaround at the moment. No studio owns the script right now. The reason is partly that Romero insists on making the film his way and doesn't take any bullshit from studio executives. He actually walked out of a meeting with Fox suits when they suggested he should rename the film NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD RECKONING. Honestly, I don't hold it against him. He could have made the film long ago but in a compromised, adulterated way. He's sticking to his guns, though, and I'm glad he does. Either he'll some day get to make it the way he wants or it'll never happen. In short: Don't expect it anytime soon!

Hopefully someday some studio will pay for this. I know it probably won't be anytime soon, but I did appreciate the Day of the Dead documentary on the new DVD where they left us with hope for it.

I seem to remember reading (can't remember where) that John Carpenter offered to put up some money for the new Dead film. Damn, I wish I saved that article. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yes, and Guillermo del Toro supposedly wanted to do so too.

All pipedreams, though, gang.

There has to be enough horror fan, millionaires out there that could get together and fund it. They'd make their money back and then some, christ 20 mil is nothing, look at what FvJ did in one freakin day. Come on fork it over Dammit!

An unrated movie would never play as many theaters as Freddy vs Jason.

No, it wouldn't. I'm not saying it would match FvJ's debut gross but in the long run the theatrical run and DVD release would bank enough to buy at least a couple small countries I think. Maybe not that much but 20 mil would be surpassed pretty damn quick.
