I really dont get why they have changed the costume at all. There is nothing wrong with the design from the Cap Movie.

Has Batman taught us NOTHING???

They're going to make a ton of action figures regardless.

It looks more like they really took the fanboy bitching about the WW2 costume to heart.

-Red and White stripes? CHECK

-Red gloves and boots? CHECK

-Less baggy? CHECK

-More of a mask that a Helmet? CHECK

The new outfit looks ok, but the WW2 version looked better.

Well from an in-universe perspective, it makes sense for him to get a more modern costume instead of having him walk around in something he wore during World War II. This is weird...must be the first time I've heard people disappointed in a costume being too true to the comics. Also, the best part of Nick's post was the term "cowl movement". Regardless of your feelings towards that movie/franchise, you gotta admit this is some magnificent world play.

The thing is that the fans who tend to whine about a costume being too different from the source material tend to be a vocal minority. I think most people accept that there's got to be some differences between the comic and the films. Stuff that looks great drawn, and in 2D, can look goofy and untenable when rendered in real life.

Dude, have you seen the Captain America line of toys already out? What he wears in the movie didn't restrict them from releasing every other comic version of Cap's uniform in plastic recently. There's no orange-camo-arctic-underwater-flying version thank God.

Looks pretty good to me. I like that they haven't gone overboard with the detail as usual.

I like it, but I really liked Affleck's Daredevil costume so my taste is suspect.

Yeah. I'm not feeling that. I want Cap pining for his WWII uniform to be a running joke in the movie. And for Iron Man to mock him.

But maybe set photos are set photos and it will look better on film.
