One-sheet for Statham's latest "Highly Competent Murderer Person" film.

What is this frumpy bullshit?? Statham's so bundled up, it looks like a sequel to Dutch or Curly Sue or something. I want Statham half-naked and tough and muscled and violent!

Jesus, will you find one schtick and stick with it.

Spike, stay on topic. That being, greasy, naked Jason Statham.

This time he’s a “former elite operative” who gets mixed up in a situation where he has to protect a young girl from –and this comes directly from the studio synopsis– the “bad guys.”

lol love this.

Honestly, he looks like a hobo who kidnapped a little Asian girl for, uh, shenanigans.

Double the Statham this Fall?  Hell yes!

The real question is whether or not Safe looks as fantastically awesome as Killer Elite?

I'd find Statham more tiresome if this were 1991, but the fact is he seems to really be the only guy doing this very old school styled action hero thing right now and making a complete career from it. The guy knows what he's good at and there's a market for it, good luck to him.

Good luck indeed.  Outside of The Expendables, the man hasn't really had a hit since Crank (2006).  I hope one of his upcoming films ends up doing well, as I'd hate to see him end up with a DTV career in the future.

Oh I'm assuming that'll be a foregone conclusion actually - guys got a very specific career path that he's on.

Maybe so, but it would be nice if it didn't happen for at least another decade...........................especially since he is really all we've got!  Johnson and Diesel projects are too few and far between.

Actually, Statham's playing with house money already... it's going on a decade since the first Transporter, and he's still toplining theatrical releases; by rights, DTV would have happened to most guys with his... um... "range"... years ago.

And, really, the guy had me at "Let's sort the buyers from the spyers, the needy from the greedy, and those who trust me from the ones who don't, because if you can't see value here today, you're not up here shopping. You're up here shoplifting... 'Too late, too late' will be the cry when the man with the bargains has passed you by." I hope he keeps going forever.

Fun fact you may not know - Statham used to sell dodgy knock-off goods on the streets in London just as a younger man just as he's shown doing at the start of Lock Stock - it's why he was so bloody good at it.
