I don't think Agent Z has a leg to stand on but I also think your statement bears examining. Tangentially related is the Name Change request thread. Now, I happen to agree that a policy on the message board allowing changes only to real names is a good one for two reasons:
1. If you started with a real name and now want to protect yourself from something you said you are an idiot for using your real name online and saying something you wouldn't back up.
2. The workload on those in charge is reduced by not having to fulfill every single request anytime someone wants a new name.
That being said, the idea that the internet is anything but a public forum is asinine and I, after 16 years of being online, cannot to this day understand the mentality of people who utilize Facebook and public forums such as here with their real names and believe that nothing will come back to bite them in the ass.
All that being said, I also feel for Diva's plight and the above is in no way meant to be construed as downing on her. Just a general observation about stories you often hear about people getting in trouble for stuff they said online.
I don't often Google myself but did, as I assume most did, in response to this thread and luckily my efforts through the years to remain anonymous have paid off. In the past three years as I have publicized my office and increased the social media presence of same my name crops up more and more on those first pages of search. Even then I comprise only 35% of the results and they are all but one related to chiropractic pursuits and my name is by no means common.
