A TRAILER FOR A GHOST RIDER FILM YOU PROBABLY WANT TO SEE

Much better.

This pleases me greatly. And simply having Idris Elba in this one automatically makes it superior to the original.

Fuck that actually looks good. It can't be right?.........RIGHT?

Looks like shitloads of fun. But we'll see. I'd love a Ghost Rider film in which Cage's loony performance actually matched the movie around it. I swear the first movie was like watching at least three different kinds of movies weirdly stitched together, with only Cage's lunacy, Mendes' perfect cleavage and FUCKING SAM ELLIOT giving the viewer anything to hold on to.

Doc Happenin, Idris Elba is...Awesome, just not as Awesome as...Sam Elliott.  Neveldine/Taylor directing...CAGEy Nic, as a...Ghost Rider of the Storm, should...BLAZE to the top of the box office charts on...President's Day  Weekend 2012!  GR looks alot cooler than the first one!

Fuck yeah. Fuck. Yeah.

Yep, this looks like just my cup of stupid.

Pissing fire? Oh yeah.

Gotta see it.

I love that this mostly looks to be set in the desert sun.  I recall the first movie always being completely in the dull darkness.

I was with 'em until the fire peeing bit. Stupid.

Not enough to make me stay away though - I saw Elektra for god's sake - I'll see nearly anything comic related.

Cage is looking weirder and weirder these days. Too much work I think.

Wow, SOLD. Love the Crank flicks, and I am thrilled that this franchise has produced an exploitation biker pic. Excited.

grubstreeter, If Elektra had actually been a...Ninja Fest, and not some bizarre...Woman in peril film, more would have seen it.  Also, is the director of Elektra in this...Movie Jail?  If not he should be.  I would...Love a big budget Elektra film, where she takes out several of...The Hand, Ninja!  Ghost Rider was definitely the...Better of Mark Steven Johnsons superhero films.  Neither DD or Ghost Rider were as bad as either of the Joel Shlockmacher Batman films!

They seriously upgraded the look of the character. He looked pretty blue and cartoony in the original. Here, he looks like a goddamned MONSTER. Nicely done, guys.

Neveldine and Taylor make everything better. Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance is coming out on my birthday. Unless something else comes out that day, I know what I'm seeing for my birthday.

Nic Cage, Stringer Bell, a cool looking flaming skull on a Bike...what more could one ask for?!

Also pleased to see the Marvel Knights logo....Disney/Marvel are really managing their Brands well.

I still enjoy the first movie on an Ed Wood level, but this looks to be a rather startling improvement, and much more like some of the better Ghost Rider comics I've read. I haven't seen either of the Crank movies, no, but I've heard they're quite insane, and that seems to be carrying over here, especially since you have Nicolas Cage, an actor who is totally fearless about looking like a madman.

I also love that GR himself looks a lot more dangerous and demonic, whereas he looked kind of plastic and ridiculous in the first movie.

I like the idea of Neveldine/Taylor as opposed to the reality, but at least the visual approach to the character of Ghost Rider is far less about taking his shitty look from the 90's and transposing it to the screen* than it is about creating a cool and menacing movie monster.

*To be fair, I've never seen the first film. I love the character and the comics from 1972-1983 run, but only from that period. I couldn't be bothered to tolerate yet another Mark Steven Johnson money-burning project.

Remedy that. And invite friends and alcohol.

MSJ and N&T represent the terrible and terrific (respectively) ends of the "heart in the right place" spectrum. It's not enough to have a passion for what you're making, you need judgment and skill to follow as well.

The sad part is that for what it is, Crank is an almost perfect film. Crank 2, on the other hand, is considerably worse and Gamer is a piece-of-shit, so even though I can't quite write them off I still feel like they need to prove they can do something beyond hyper-cuts and juvenile humour. They're the epitome of style over substance.

I'm going to assume this is not the consensus, right? Because I would rank one at the level of AWESOME and the second film on the level of SO MUCH MORE AWESOME.

Don't know what the consensus is but to me the sequel just felt like they were trying to turn everything in the original up to ten, which didn't exactly work since the original already WAS at ten... So we ended up with a few rehashed scenes and a bunch of other random shit thrown at the wall to see what sticks (like the godzilla fight). I didn't hate it, but coming off of one, it was too messy for my liking.

I enjoy Gamer.  Crank is excellent.  Crank II is a fucking masterpiece!  So far they are three for three with me and it looks like Ghost Rider will be just as fun.

Gamer was a huge surprise for me. I was expecting a gigantic piece of shit, and ended up being very entertained. Especially by Michael C. Hall.

Crank 2 has Amy Smart getting banged on a horse track with a horse leaping over her and it's donger flopping over her in slow motion while "Heard It In A Love Song" plays and everyone cheers on the fucking. If that doesn't certify it as a modern cinematic classic of Criterion worthy proportions, then a tattooed bastard getting an oiled up shotgun shoved up his ass will.

Hey Guys, The 2nd film is...CRANKed to the Max, while the original should leave no one...CRANKy.  Gamer was not...Game, to me though!  I cannot wait to see the pairing of Nic Cage in a Neveldine/Taylor Ghost Rider Film! ...HELLacious, doesn't even begin to tell the tale.

I really hope that Statham returns for the third film (I think he will) and that they can get it financed.

I also hope that it gets filmed in 3D. Neveldine/Taylor would really know how to exploit 3D.

Any fans of the Neveldine/Taylor-scripted Pathology? I thought that fit well in the N/T filmography, and was appropriately sick and crazy.

Still haven't seen that one.  Might have to bump it higher on the Netflix queue.

It was way better than I expected.

And I won't abide with Crank 2 dissing. No movie where a script meeting went like this: "You know what? The final scene seems a little tame. Let's have him be ON FIRE!' will be anything but awesome for me.

Uhm... am I the only thinking that Crank should already have been what Crank II eventually became? That level of craziness should have been the starting point. Standing on a motorcycle wasn't that spectacular. Love the Godzilla bit in 2. Also, that burning Chelios just doesn't jump into the nearby pool, standing there like FUCK SHIT YEAH.

Same goes for Hostel. Hostel got advertised as that super uncomfortable beast but wasn't really. There's not one scene in the movie as gruesome as the promised powertool down the throat on the poster.

I've always thought Hostel: Part II was vastly superior to the first one, but I usually seem to be in the minority on that.

Hostel part 2 is superior to the first film, which I largely dislike. Roth's grip of an admittedly intriguing concept is more assured the second go around.

Hostel 2 begins with one guy's head being stolen while his gf in the next room doesn't notice, I think his head is cut off straight and his body is still sitting at the table or something like that, and ends with kids playing soccer with a head. Roth seemingly tried to do Friday 13th humor in those moments, but I really didn't like it, especially seeing that the whole first part and the rest of two is meant to be taken so seriously. Both scenes are terribly goofy, don't you think?

While I haven't watched it in a long time, I recall her being upstairs.  Anyway, I liked the malicious humor that is littered throughout the film.......................the castration, Ruggero Deodoto dining, the Bathory sequence, etc.  While I like the first film, I love the second.

Hostel II is superior to the first in every way but surprising the viewer.

I absolutely hated the first Ghost Rider. It was the worst kind of cheese, but what bothered me the most (and I think I've said this before) was the lack of rules.

Ghost Rider alternated between being invincible and feeling the effects of damage as Johnny Blaze, but no consistency. Also, his ability to defeat those four demons, the elementals, was the worst kind of Dragonball Z shit: "I'm not powerful enough to defeat you UNTIL I AM!!!"

This new movie looks like a ton of fun, and aside from Cage has gratefully discarded the former cast. I see even the devil has been recasted, no more Peter Fonda, so I'll be viewing this as a soft reboot of sorts. Like, it doesn't necessarily contradict the first but it doesn't need the first to exist.

Nick Cage was the best part of the first, so luckily he's still around. Hopefully still drinking cups of candy. I hope GR himself is played up more as a monster and less of a superhero, and if he speaks they do something about his voice. It was a little...off in the first one. Something else about the voice, it went too far towards making Blaze and GR distinct characters. Much like Banner and the Hulk, I want to see a progression of Blaze's control over GR this time.

So glad there are Hostel Part II lovers. I think Lauren Graham and Roger Bart both created way more interesting characterizations than any in the first film. And also, just a pure delight for the gorehound in me.

EDIT: Lauren GERMAN. DRAT.

Dang Gabe, I thought that I somehow did not recognize Graham when I saw Hostel 2 (which I loved), but turns out the girl's name is Lauren German.
