Yeah, I am just an idiot.

By the way, is everyone else going to their guy friends and action fans and telling them they have to see this series and to find a way to watch it anyway they can?

Thanks Doc.  I've actually been considering doing just that.

I am just glad we can all enjoy this brilliance.  I feel like this show was made for me.

I second the blog/review suggestion for next season, Fazer. Your write-ups have been one of my favorite aspects of the entire Strike Back experience this season.

The editing for the finale was incredible. The way they went back and forth between Stonebridge defusing the bomb and Scott fighting Latif's henchman impressed the heck out of me.

Need to apologize to Sgt. Richmond for my firm belief that she was a mole. Not only was she no mole, but she was fairly hardcore during the Section 20 shootout. Capping fools even after taking a round in the arm.

Quite a right hook Sinclair delivered to Scott. Loved how Scott tried to play it off as nothing only to confide in Stonebridge that "It fuckin' hurt but don't tell him."

Gonna be a hard wait for the show's return but I'm glad Cinemax will start running the season over again right away. Definitely want to watch the first 2 episodes now that we know the truth about Grant.

Re-downloading the finale so I can gif that epic silent FUCK ME

If any of you guys plan on doing a re-watch soon, can you jot down the timestamp of whenever Scott says "fuck me"? I want to make a video compilation.

I can handle that for the first couple eps, don't know if I'll rewatch any beyond that in the near future.

Aside from his silent expletive when Grant went kablooey, my favorite use of Scott's potty mouth in the finale was when everyone on the tram started to panic when he drew his gun and he just started yelling at them all to "Fuck off!."

Hmm, was fine in my browser but seems glitchy on here

Edit: oh, if you click to open it, it loads fine

Edit again: I'll just put the link instead

Nice work Doc!

Just caught up with the season 2 finale, and besides "Holy", "fucking" and "shit", I simply don't have the words.

God damn, this show looks a million bucks.  Why can't movies get it right like this (for the most part)?  They make it all look so easy.

Great show! I really enjoyed it... My favorite show these last weeks. The best action I've seen in a long time. (TV *and* movies)

I'm glad it was renewed.

BTW, I think that the finale was the only episode where Scott did not get laid. One could make a drinking game out of that. (and the headshots, "fuck", and more) smile.gif

Since we have such a multi-cultural board crew, I am curious what the response to the show has been overseas?

I know the first season was completely different with different leads, but still by all reports very good.  Was the first season THIS GOOD though?

I think I preferred the first season overall, for one reason only.  Sex.  Listen, I loves me some sex.  It's good for what ails ya.  But it just felt so shoehorned and completely unnecessary to EVERY SINGLE EPISODE in the second season.  It really didn't seem to exist for any real reason other than "we can do it, so why not?".  I hate to sound prudish, because I think this could actually be the first time in my life I'm complaining about such a thing.  Other than that, they're both damn excellent seasons.  Porter is The Badass Supreme in s1, though.  Stonebridge ain't quite there yet.

Hehehe, I hear you natural.

The sex does seem over the top, but I think it fits with the bombastic and over the top nature of the entire show.

Ill have to track down season 1 one of these days.

HUGE CASTING NEWS!!

I think Mitra is a great choice...and just to an observer she seems a bit more bangable (in the show for Scott and in real life) than Amanda Mealing's "Col. Grant" (but she did have a great set of bazookas.

Can the next season come out already?

Welcome to the show, Ms. Mitra. Now drop dem draws!

So, season 1 of this show worth?  I see NZ's into it, wondering if there are some other opinions.  Not to discount yours, bro!  Is the action and fun on par with season 2, at least?

None taken, good sir. I loved Blue Mountain State, so . . . ya know . . . I'm not to be trusted. I think, overall, the two best words to describe s1 (especially in comparison to s2) are "small" and "personal". It's not as bombastic, and nary a titty in sight. But the acting from Armitage and Lincoln really sell the story of a disgraced soldier's search for both redemption AND answers. It's every bit as cinematic, and the action is still miles above anything else on TV, even if it isn't quite as relentless as s2's is. But it's well paced, the overall plot is gripping and if nothing else, the communications chatter/dialogue over the very final scene will get a fist-pump and a "fuck yeah!" out of you. ;)

Out of all the recent shows, this has been the one I most gravitate towards re-watching. The Chechnya gunfight still remains at the top of my favorite action scenes of the last year. Im-fucking-pecable.

I just wanted to thank everyone here. I'd never heard of this show until I started reading this thread. After reading someone comparing STRIKE BACK to "24", I thought I'd give it a go seeing as that was previously one of my favourite shows.

I've just watched the entire season in three nights. Tonight alone I watched four episodes back-to-back. What a great show! Stonebridge and Scott were a great set of characters who worked brilliantly with one another, the action scenes just seemed to get better and better, and the overall season story was really well done (I loved the way that everything tied back to several of the characters in the end). My only complaint is the number of sex scenes, which makes me sound a bit prudish. I agree with another poster here who said they felt shoe-horned into the episodes. Overall though, this was great stuff and I'm incredibly glad they're making another one.

Great to have another join the flock, sir.

Mr Saxon, after all the unprotected fucking of random tramps, would you say that what Mr Scott needs right now . . . is a Doctor?

What this show needs is NOT to cut down on the sex scenes. It needs to NOT pull another Major Grant with Mitra.

I wanted to see her boobs, dammit! Preferably accompanied by riding boots and whip. Why would they deny this small joy to me?

Glad you enjoyed the show Saxon.

I understand the complaint about gratuitous nudity and sex, but it is on american premium cable, which has clearly become a tits and ass magnet.  Every show coming out on the pay channels is pushing nudity and sex at the forefront and I think (believe it or not) its because creators are getting more leeway from tv studios than hollywood studios for long form dramas and nudity versus lots and lots of nudity in a one shot movie that may cost the studios in the ability to sell the movies to cable channels down the line (due to the need for heavy editing) as well as selling that type of flick overseas.

Either way, I feel like the nudity is there to stay.  The 15 year old boy in me loves it and I fully feel like the creators go out of their way to put it in the show only because its becoming an aspect of the show that is expected from it (re: my countdown recaps to the last few episodes of the season).

There's nothing to compare with the Stoneridge/Scott relationship, but I actually think the overall first series' arc is better (among other things, it's tighter, given that it's only six episodes), Porter is every bit as badass as you could ask for, and IMHO the action scenes are just as strong (though my recollection is that they might be a bit less elaborate). Andrew Lincoln's good, too. If you enjoyed Season 2, it's a must, even if slightly different.

Oh, I get why it's in there but, on a personal level, it makes me roll my eyes a little. For example, Liam Cunningham was great as Connolly but watching him have sex didn't advance my understanding of his character or the plot, and seemed kind of out-of-place. One of the few times I felt it was used well was when Scott turned down the blonde after several episodes of sleeping with every female he could. Even though they shoe-horned in a sex scene straight afterward anyway, it told me something about Scott's character. Weirdly, I don't feel the same way about Spartacus, but maybe that's because nudity and sex are more suited to that show's setting.

Still, as long the next season features more ass-kicking from my new favourite duo and an equally interesting season-arc, I'll be there. I haven't had this much fun with a show (or watched so many episodes in a row) since "24" and have recommended it to others when it comes back to Sky. It's just a damned shame that I have to wait several months for my next fix but I guess that's what I get for discovering a show late and watching the whole damned thing in three nights.
