Finally got through most of the stuff you posted, though I will still have to look through the Marble Hornets. I already knew about it before the article, but gave up on it as most of the entries (I think I got up to #18) were too similar to really keep me going.
There's some great stuff in the article and I appreciate you pointing out the NoSleep podcast.
It is interesting that most of the written stuff out there (Ted's caving, Dionaea House, Correspondence, ect..) seems to have a more supernatural bent and along with it much more ambiguous endings. It is funny how ambiguity works with the supernatural a lot better than an explanation to what is going on. For example I read through
The Alternate version of Ted's Caving Posted in the comments by Imtemp and it really did ruin the dread the site instilled in me even if this version of the story is questionable and possibly embellished upon by a fan of the site. Stange that a native american demon is much less frightening than an unseen and possibly imagined entity.
On the other hand, I find it interesting that if the story has a more realistic bent it still works. I took the time to read though the entire six episode saga of which
Boxes was the third entry and found that the explanation of the events were a confirmation of the fears that I had while reading. Funny that I am much more disturbed by my fellow man than by a ghost or haunted house. Perhaps it's because I'm a skeptic and believe that there is nothing, however horrible or depraved it may be, that one person has not joyfully tried on another person against that person's will.
The supernatural can fuck off, it's the man on the street that scares me.
If you haven't already (though I'm 99.99% you already have) may I suggest you pick up the book
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. It has similarities to the Dionaea House story but with many more layers to uncover. Happy reading.
Also the NoSleep page is so big I don't know where to start. Could you recommend some more I could read?
