I have an inside line into what's happening during this scene, as my cousin was walking her dog and her kid through Central Park and stumbled upon the shoot.  I shit you not.  According to her,

It's the end of the movie and Thor and Loki are heading back to Asgard, which explains why they're in uniform.  They're holding what appears to be a portable Bifrost at one point.  My cousin could hear Whedon shouting direction to them.  They'd call action, a wind machine would turn on, then Whedon would yell "And....DISAPPEAR!".  Everyone would then look up to the sky as if Thor and Loki just got sucked up to Asgard.  There was also a funny bit shot where Stark drives up in a sweet-looking Acura with Banner riding shotgun.  Stark gets out of the car like a boss and Banner attempts the same move and fails miserably and hilariously.

Eh... I'm not really down with Banner being the comic relief. He should be the most somber and serious of them all.
