In ads for RED STATE, they list the director as @ThatKevinSmith
Yes, a known director is being credited in ads by his fucking twitter handle. I'm no twitter-phobe or anything (I tweet often, follow a ton of people, probably the website I frequent the most) but that just seems unprofessional.

That just makes me that much more done with Smith, and I was already pretty down with him to begin with. Talk about the "artist" being transformed into product.

Cop Out was utter shit and Red State doesn't look much better. If Smith wants to retire temporarily (as we all know it won't be permanent), then let him.
That said, here are my October thoughts....
Real Steel - I'll probably Netflix it at some point unless it gets some awesome reviews.
The Ides of March - Really looking forward to this one.
The Thing - I know I probably shouldn't, but I will be going to this.
Footloose - I enjoyed Brewer's first two, but this looks like shit.
The Three Musketeers - Despite having a fun cast, I haven't seen a single thing that makes me want to pay to see this.
Paranormal Activity 3 - I thought the first was decent and I really liked the second one, so I'll give this a shot. The Saw franchise kept my attention for the first three installments, so it will be interesting to see if the inevitable PA4 flies off the rails next year as hard as Saw 4 did.
Martha Marcy May Marlene - This looks great, but I doubt it will hit theaters where I live. Is it a wide release?
In Time - I'll definitely be checking this one out.
The Rum Diary - It's about damn time this one made it to screens...........but is it going wide?
Anonymous - I haven't bothered to check out a trailer for this one yet, but I'll probably just end up Netflixing it.
I'm loving these articles though and I hope that they become a monthly staple. That said, I really think you should label which releases are going wide and which are only limited. Other than that, keep up the great work!

OK, Craig Brewer is doing Footloose? How does that happen? I mean a Footloose type of thing done in the style of Black Snake Moan, all heat and sweat and hornyness and bad ideas, would be the best thing ever, but a straight remake?

I'm down for The Ides Of March (awesome cast), In Time (awesome (kiwi) director) and The Rum Diary (awesome trailer).
Actually The Ides Of March and The Rum Diary have pretty good directors too.

Exactly. I was actually interested in seeing what he was going to do with it.......................until I saw the trailer.
I think it is getting a very tiny theatrical release before being dumped on home video. That's why I think they need to clarify which releases are wide and which aren't. For instance, Machine Gun Preacher was included in the September article, but it is only being released in New York and LA on that date............with no wide release even confirmed at this time. That's my only complaint about this otherwise great new feature on the site.

Agreed with all this. Not a lot standing out in October.
