I remember him talking about this soon after The Passion was released. I've always admired the man's talents, so I'll be interested in seeing what he comes up with, but it seems, I don't know, a little weird that he'd pick this topic of all things.

I'm down for it. I've been wondering what ol' Mel was going to do next. He hasn't had the greatest year, with his Viking project falling apart and The Beaver not even coming close to getting the attention everyone hoped it would..................not to mention his personal troubles. I was honestly waiting for them to go ahead and announce that he has actually decided to do Lethal Weapon 5. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if WB offered to (at least partially) fund/distribute this on the condition that he have one last go as Martin Riggs.
It's good to see that he is getting back in the director's chair though. He's hoping this gets made and turns out well enough that he can get that Viking epic made.

Yeah hoping for the best with this one as well. Sounds like a ripe subject for the screen.
