The funnier of Jake Kasdan's 2007 movies, this comedy goes behind the scenes of a fictional television show to see how one producer's personal vision goes all wrong. Hilarious and real, with a GREAT acidic turn by Sigourney Weaver as an asinine, focus group-dependent exec.

A truly diseased coming-of-age story about a morally-bankrupt, sexually frustrated high school loner who accidentally records the death of two popular classmates and is strong-armed into making a video eulogy. Darker than dark, and, in Antonio Campos, the debut of a startling new voice.

The Road (2009) - John Hillcoat's adaptation of the Cormac McCarthy novel.  It grossed $8.1 million domestically.  A haunting meditation on being a parent, loving and fighting to protect another soul, in an impossible journey toward a safe place that may not exist.   This flick killed me.
