Evil Dead star tweets some truth!

I think 10 years ago everyone would have wanted Nicholas Brendan to take the reigns as Ash.

How can you have Evil Dead without Ash?

Drag Me To Hell is more or less an Evil Dead movie sans Ash, and that turned out just fine.  So it can be done.  I'm just not convinced Cody is the one to do it.

You know who would be a good female Ash? Megan Fox! She's got the snark, has experience with action and horror films, could play off her current public persona, and could even draw in female moviegoers ready to see her get the crap kicked out of her by Deadites. Please send a check made out to "Cylon Baby". Thanks!

If the main character/s from the original is not in the remake, is it really a remake? "Re-imaging" maybe.

I'm past the point of caring about remakes.  The Thing remake lost its star, practical effects, so this seems to be a horrific trend.

Which is pretty much what Raimi always said the inevitable remake would be.  A balls out SCARY re-imagining of the original.  I just hope that in addition to the scares that they still keep the manic and mischievous nature of the original series intact.  If the Deadites don't have a sense of humor (however sick it may be) and constantly taunt their prey, then they will be no different than any other evil spirt/demonic menace.  It doesn't have to be taken to the same comedic extremes as the sequels, but it needs to be present nonetheless.

Besides, why is anyone surprised by this?  Campbell has said from Day One that part of him agreeing to the original being redone was that there would not be a new Ash.  No one else will play Ashley J. Williams but The Chin himself.  That said, as unlikely as Evil Dead IV is to ever get made, I can't see why they would just toss Campbell in as the character in at least a tiny cameo..............maybe at the end?  If we can't have a true Evil Dead IV, then why not just make this a "rebootquel" and at least tease us of the possibility of the survivor(s) of this teaming up with ol' Ash in a potential sequel?  Have our cake and eat it too, if you will.

If they kept the silly little gag from the beginning with the two guys on the side of the road waving, they could be Raimi and Campbell.

Who are we to doubt?

The producers of Boogeyman 1 to 3, Rise Bloodhunter, The Messengers and

guarantee a worthy follow-up. Of course it's the best suggestion to not feature the single best thing about the three originals, all of them considered classics.

It will probably not even feature fake shemps.

Meh?

I was once one of those people. I've seen him in the killer pinta movie and some lame rom com where he played the gay best friend. He was horrible in both. Jensen Ackles could play the hero.

Bruce is going to be the voice on the tape recorder, surely.

I'm still struggling to see the point of this. I've no doubt that, with the talent involved, this could be anywhere from good to great, but it's not got the characters, it's not got Raimi...it's a generic horror film with the EVIL DEAD title slapped on it.

I don't know about The Evil Dead, but Jensen Ackles needs, deserves something big. More than Supernatural.

Much like Nicolas Brendan, hasn't everyone been saying that for like six or seven years now?

Jensen Ackles is not going to happen, guys.

Probably...............but will his character be named or less unidentified?

Dude almost ended up a Captain America before Supernatural was picked up for a sixth season.  It'll happen, but probably not until Supernatural goes off the air.

Considering the fact that Marvel is apparently keen on using the guy for something, he'll get a shot eventually.................but not until Supernatural runs its course.
