I am curious to hear where the CHUD community stands on this contentious issue

I'll let my choice of image speak for itself, but I am mostly interested to hear what the consensus is 'round these parts, since I respect this site's members and their opinions. At the least it should make for a lively topic of debate

I'm surprised to find I'm the first to reply to this thread...

Some people believe Israel isn't occupying the Palestinian territories, and some people don't believe that to be the case. Personally, I think what Israel and the UN (backed by the US) have done--and are still doing--is akin to what the United States did to the Native Indians by stealing their land in the name of "God" (Manifest Destiny). And, I know, we can't go back in time and change history. The Palestinians essentially haven't gave up the fight. And, if I were in their shoes, I'd like to think I'd do the same--but not throught violence. Then again, if my family and livelihood were being attacked, I'd probably fight back. It just seems like an endless battle. I fall on the side that Zionism is simply wrong. And being anti-Zionist isn't the same as being anti-semitic. There have been wrongs perpetrated on both sides. The issue's really over my head, so this is mainly my opinion w/o facts. Take it for whatever it's worth.

PEACE

Just buy them tickets to Canada. Less violence, more skiing and you can still be dependant on America.

MOSQUE BURNINGS http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/03/israeli-mosque-torched-_n_991819.html

JERUSALEM -- Arsonists torched a mosque in an Arab village in northern Israel Monday, setting off protests by residents who clashed with police. Graffiti sprayed at the site suggested Jewish radicals, suspected in other recent mosque fires, were involved.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said carpet was burned inside the mosque in Tuba-Zangria and interior walls were damaged. Copies of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, were also burned, Israeli media reported.

The words "price tag" were painted on walls. A reference to exacting "payment" from Arab israeli citizens, for the Israeli government having demolished a handful of illegal Israeli colonies

The middle east's only true democracy!..........
