NEW GIRL- Zooey deschanel's show - Page 9

We'll be sex fisting through--

"Who's that girl?"

Brilliant.

Jake Johnson has an incredible way of making lines that look like nothing on paper into the biggest laughs of an episode.

"You want to hear what your ex-boyfriend thinks you should do to get the guy?"

"No, I don't, that's super weird."

"Yeah, it's too weird, so somebody else?"

But a couple of close seconds:

"I rented Best Man Holiday.  You're not in it."

"Do guys still like an LA face with an Oakland booty?"

Reviews online are a bit down on the episode, but I thought it was pretty great.  Good mash-up of the ensemble, and some hilarious jokes.

I liked Winston's Salt/Pepper bit, and then you hear Nick's tap shoes running away off camera. Once I realized what that sound was, I was roaring.

Is it rude to suggest that something looked really off about Deschanel's makeup in this episode? I'm no expert, can't put my finger on it.

Thought this episode felt like a return to form. Lots of laughs.

Much of last season coasted by on the abilities of the performers to salvage scenes, this felt like a more balanced effort.

I started to write something about how they seemed to make her less attractive this episode (older looking, maybe), but I wasn't sure if it was on purpose to make Jessica Biel even more attractive or if it was simply a side-effect of standing next to the extremely attractive Jessica Biel.

Biel was terrific in the episode, by the way.  One note, but such an odd and specific note that it made me LOL more than once.

Her scowling the dude away from the men's room door should be the go-to .gif for expressing utter disdain for at least the next few months.

Biel is always a welcome sight to me. And not only for the obvious reasons.

"Are you Bidening?"

"How do you know about that?"

"I'll always be one step ahead of you."

The tap shoes were such a great running gag.

I noticed the same thing.  I mean no offense by it, but she sort of looked like a guy in drag or something - at least that's the comment I made to my wife.

I believe what she actually said was Oakland face with an LA booty, which is even funnier.

Schmidt's silent reactions to Jess after saving her from beard guy killed me.

Loved the whole Schmidt and Jess A-plot. The Taboo buzzer bit was great.

When Winston got the nickname Toilet, all I could think about was "Trashboat" from the Regular Show.

"That's Bah-bar, you DUM-DUM."

DTF = Darn-Tootin' Fun

As soon as she used DTF for darn tootin fun I knew things were going to end badly

"If pot were a piano, Nick would be a nine-year-old Chinese girl."

If you think for one minute I dont know how to open a musical.... I love that it was that thought that offended him.

The sponge commercial at the end fooled me for a second..

"Sponge.  Sponge.  Sponge."

A definite improvement over the premiere.

You know that if ever some company decided to start targeting home cleaning products at men, that's almost exactly how they'd do it.

Rumblings from a friend about this episode, "That was absolutely awful.  I used to love this show, but I think I'm done after how awful this season has been.  They just keep repeating jokes."

Me: "Are you sure you don't mean situations instead of jokes?  You do realize this is a sitcom right? And it's only been 3 episodes."

Them:, "No, I mean jokes."

Me: "Like?"

Them: "I can't be specific right now."

Me: "Well, I'm sorry you don't have enough patience to see if they can work out the kinks.  I'd argue the freshness of the jokes are the redeeming factor when the "story" fails.  That's enough to keep me watching.  Plus, I'm a sucker for Rob Reiner and Sweet Dee."

Them "Have fun wasting your time on shit."

Half-assed hyperbole much? /random anecdote

Don't worry about your friend dropping out of the New Girl club, I just climbed aboard last week. I mean, what could go wrong with starting to watch a show in its 4th season?

I thought they were supposed to be on an island? What is this crap? What is happening? Who are these two weird guys and why does that one want to kill the other one?

No, nothing wrong at all.

Glad to hear it Doc because I was dying at the "What's the first word that pops into your head when I say sponge" thing. Now I'm pissed off at y'all for not convincing me to watch this show sooner.

I wonder how many times micropenis has been Googled since last night?

Some good Winston insanity ("We got a Paula Cole rock block coming our way") last night.

Quietly raises hand, so, at least once...

"Shut your gross, beautiful face..."

What was it that Winston said as they were looking at Jess' wonky right knee?  "Get me a jacket covered in yellow feathers...."?

So good to see Alan Ritchison on my screen again. Guy is crazily under rated. I just pretended Jess was going out with Thad Castle's cousin.

This episode was also directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, which seems right up his alley.

Some can have money, I desire thoughtfulness.

Amazing.
