NEW GIRL- Zooey deschanel's show - Page 11

That gay wolf musical number destroyed me. Funniest thing on this show in a long while.

"I hate classical music. They have so many better kinds of music now."

No show has better facial expressions than this show. Winston and Nick are the champions of facial expressions of course, but Jess and Schmidt definitely don't disgrace themselves in that department.

Best cast in TV comedy right now aside from Veep.

Hats off to the editors too. They always place those amazing reaction shots right where they'll do the most good.

Hats off to the editors indeed. In my house we often watch New Girl while we're having dinner and it takes 27 minutes instead of 22 because every time one drops one's gaze to one's plate on misses pure visual gold on the screen, so one must rewind a few seconds. Plus the best gags on this show are so funny that even when one has beheld them with one's full attention they're work a second and/or third look.

There's so much going on in any given half second of this show that it's the exact opposite of "background" entertainment. You hear me Mike J? I said "opposite". And I meant it.

Pretty meh episode.  I did LOL at one particular scene, but it has escaped me at this point. I only recall it being earlier in the episode and it involved Winston.  Coach had a funny reaction later in the episode as well.  Unfortunately, the bland, silliness of the episode really caused me to forget anything of value.

In related news, this was given a 5th season order.

Zooey gotta eat.

That would have been Nasim Pedrad's drawn-out "no".

KC and JoJo jokes never get old. It's 2015 and I'm still laughing. It also helps when Winston is the one making the jokes.

"Anyone see my white friends?"

Dammit, Hammerhead, you beat me to it.  I was just about to post that.  That joke just came out of nowhere and it made me choke on my dinner.

Winston's best non-sequitur this week was "I'm sleeping on the couch 'cause Furguson and I are fighting..."

Black velvet is my jam too. let's hope if Coach leaves that there are a few cameos next year.

Well I hate to see Coach move on, but it looks like CeCe is taking his place in the loft (possibly). I almost teared up watching this episode, overall a good season finale.

This show's finales have never been strong.  This is the best season finale this show has ever done.  More Cece is a good thing.  She has been mysteriously absent this season.  I am glad to have their will-they-won't-they in the rear view mirror (I hope.) Losing Coach is a bummer, but I'm not sure they ever figured him out enough to justify his character.

Highlight for me: watching Coach and Winston crying at each other from a distance.

I'm such a softie, damn it.

It's Cece's fault for being so damn adorable.

Aside from Parks & Rec I think this is the only sitcom that's ever given me what the kids call The Feels, and that was when Cece found out in that restaurant that Schmidt had been cheating on her with Elizabeth (in S3 I think?). I've never felt like Hannah Simone was the best part of the show but when she needed to reach into my chest and tug at a heart string or two she darn well had what it took.

What with the phone skills and crepe-flipping on display, I'm coming to the only slightly unsupportable conclusion that Winston is actually pretty great at everything except tuning into the frequencies of his weird white friends.

Maybe not jigsaw puzzles...

I'm watching the end of S4 New Girl, about 8 eps into S3 New Girl and just started from the beginning seeing the first 3 eps ever of New Girl, so it's all New Girl all the time in my house.

I'll never experience the glory of seeing the show develop as it went, since I can't watch these early eps free of what I already know about the characters, but it's fun reading through the start of this thread to see how it played for y'all.

My OCD tendencies just went into overdrive after reading this.  Gah!

Glad you are still enjoying it though!

Haha, I know it's breaking the rules, but it's either watch one episode per week in the correct order or watch a bunch per week all higglety-pigglety, and I like me a bunch of this show per week so all-out-of-whack it is. It's not available on NZ Netflix and I haven't worked out how to do that thing where I trick American Netflix into thinking I'm American or whatever, and I've never been into the pirating thing, so this is how I have to roll.

Plus I didn't really like the Zooey starring and goofy-timelined 500 Days of Summer, so this is my chance to enjoy something featuring her which has a non-linear timeline. It's win-win.

Since this has such a small fan base on this site, I don't think it's necessary to create a 6th season thread. That said, "For the third time in my life, I have to call off a boat purchase." Winston never ceases to knock them out of the park.

I haven't caught up with this since somewhere in S2. I enjoyed it, I just never bothered trying to catch up since. Is it worth catching up?

Season 4 can be rough, but I think the humor is as steady as it gets, so that makes it easier to watch when the show hit its lows. Personally, I think this is the funniest show on TV, but I think you'd struggle to find anyone else on here that would agree with me. So, bias and all that.

It's not a plotty show, a couple relationship threads aside. It's all about the cast chemistry, which is fantastic, and the joke writing, which is always pretty good. If you made it through the first season, it's always been at least that good.

You must at least watch the Prince episode.

I love the heck out of it too. Veep's still my #1 jam, even post-Iannucci, but New Girl is my second best.

I love the crap out of this show.

They've been showing commercials for the New Girl and Brooklyn 99 crossover which airs next week.  Hoping it's fun.

This season has had a creaky start as far as I'm concerned, but I still enjoy it fine. Winston continues to be the star.

Funny line but pretty underwhelming episode otherwise.

Has there ever been a truly memorable crossover?*

*Spin-offs don't count.

I'll take 'blatantly not New York' for $300, Alex.

This episode barely qualified as a crossover.

It was more of a crossover than the B99 episode.

Don't know how long Robbie McFarrin will play the physical comedy, but truly I enjoy his brokenness.

It's about time Nelson Franklin booked a solid gig.
