As I said on the other Hugo thread, I've been psyched for this movie since reading (and viewing) the book.  Not only is the book steeped in love for early cinema magic, but you can see how the character of Hugo has the potential to be a classic Scorsese protagonist.  And the book's settings and imagery are ready-made for filmmakers serious about using 3D properly.

 

I'm far more pumped for Hugo than the new Muppet movie (not to say I'm not anticipating that one too).

Sounds like a biopic. Exactly what is it about the imagery that is ready-made for "serious" 3D?
