...because they've ordered the script for it.

The better question is whether or not it will get as batshit crazy as the comic eventually did?  Will we see a villainous assassin made of fecal matter called Shithead?

Ha ha. Wow the film was one of the weirdest studio pictures of the last 10 years with a truly nihilistic view of things. I appreciated it but didn't love it.

It felt empty and angry and I still don't know why. Random Morgan Freeman cursing as well.

Good luck to whoever helms the sequel they will need it.

I won't be surprised if Bekmambetov comes back for it, so long as the eventual shooting schedule works out.  To this day, he seems more than willing to do the sequel.

Well he has skills but the original film really needed more. He seemed like he didn't know how to stick the landing.

I have a hard time believing McAvoy would come back for this.

There were a few moments I enjoyed in the original (they keyboard keys being the only clever bit that sticks out in my memory), but over all the presence of Jolie and the general concept just didn't do much for me. I hope this sequel is not produced

I think it's deemed to fail, with it coming so late and without Jolie. The minute they agreed on killing off Fox they decided killing off the idea of a Wanted franchise. Their very first idea of doing a prequel to get her back couldn't have felt any more forced, and now continuing on without her is just nuts. Unless they get Will Smith or Johnny Depp as a replacement, at best they should think about a dtv cash-in.

I wouldn't advise McAvoy to return.

If he signed for sequels, he might not have a choice.  If he isn't contracted, I doubt he'll show up.  Then again, I doubt this will get made.  How many different scripts has this gone through already since the first one came out?

Its hubris to think there is a huge audience waiting to see this.

Hollywood is bankrupt artistically. Stop cannibalism of films and sequels to blockbuster films with lukewarm receptions.

and Kristen Stewart courted as a possible addition

Bullet-curving replaced by lip-biting. A deadly assassin technique didn't you know?
