Waxworks - anyone seen this lately?

I was thinking about this movie recently and how much I loved it but I have not seen it in over 10 years. Has it stood the test of time or is it asstastic?

Exxxcelent movie! One of my favorites. I sold a buttload of VHS on eBay and that was one I did not give up, not until DVD, unfortunately that could be a long time coming.

I was actually just bugging Johnny the other day to have a sloth-fest and watch Waxwork, Warlock 2, People Under the Stairs, and Company of Wolves, but he's a poop, he wanted to watch NetFlix rentals.

Every six months or so I look to see if a Waxworks DVD is going to be made, no luck yet. Maybe some day a waxwork SE will be made!

She's lying! I would've never passed up the chance to see 'Company of Wolves' OR 'Waxwork'. Looks like someone's getting a beating tonight...

On the subject, yes, the movie does hold up over time. Still one of my favorite werewolves ever to be seen on film.

Great bloody flick!

I always thought a great double bill would be Douglas Hickox's "Theatre of Blood" followed by his son Anthony's "Waxwork" - one of my all time favourite horror pictures. Or make it a triple bill and stick Michael Curtiz's "Mystery of the Wax Museum" or better still Andre De Toth's Vinecent Price starring "House OF Wax" IN 3D!!!

*sigh* to have my own 35mm movie collection...

Of course, Waxwork 2 was released in the UK with the stupid title of "Lost In Time" - although it's worth seeking out for yet another fine Bruce Campbell cameo. You've got to love any film that has Patrick MacNee describing a mystical time-travel device as "God's Nintendo".

Waxwork always reminds me of that brief period in the 80's that also gave us "Fright Night", another great unashamedly cheesy horror flick.

God, I'm going to have to have a video night soon. So many classics to revisit...

I love Waxworks. The whole thing is one great and loving tribute to Hammer horror. How did David Warner's line go, "Would you care... for a closer look?"

I am glad to hear it holds up. I remember renting it when it first came out, loving it, then trying to find someone besides myself who saw it.....I never did, until now!

Coolbeans I agree with Fright Nite thats a great flick. Whatever happened to the stars buddy in the movie, he was great and I never saw him in anything after that?

I thought everyone knew that story? The guy who played Evil Ed famously ended up making hardcore gay porno.

Read it and weep!

I named my rat after Stephen Geoffreys' gay persona.

Next time you watch Waxwork, count the number of people killed off. It's supposed to be 13 total, but it really ends up being 14 or 15. They forget about one of the lesser character's deaths.

I love that movie, though. I wish a DVD would come out soon. Watching Patrick Macnee's head get crushed by the werewolf was just too cool.

That is unbelievable! Any other actors turned porn stars?
