American Horror Story - Page 5

Unusual.. really disturbing..and wonderful fun. Really looking forward for season two.

Well shit. Murphy has just said on a conference call that the story of the murder house is done, and AHS will be anthological. Which means we might see the same actors back, but as different characters, And it will be a "haunting" but I guess not the same house.

Huh.  I'm actually ok with that.  I mean, I like a lot of the characters we've got, but the season as a whole felt very self-contained.  I would be surprised if we didn't, at least, see Lange and the Antichrist baby again, though.

There will be a new title sequence.

Same writing staff will be back. Murphy: "There are all sorts of different American horror stories to tell." He mentions serial killers, true crime stories, prison-based stories, etc.

That's actually really interesting. It's the kind of risk you don't see shows taking very often. Massive potential for disaster and pissing off fans, though.

Very interesting. I'll be curious to see who they end up casting for season 2, and I'd love to hear at what point they decided to do the show this way.

That actually sounds good to me.  As long as the same loopiness stays intact.

I think Dylan and Connie are gone(per Murphy), atleast as regulars.  Sure Lange, the 2 kids, and the hot maid will be back.

Aw, damn.  A lot of the specimen jars and tools in the current one are from my work.  I got a kick out of seeing them every week.

As much as I loved the show, I think they pretty much wrapped it up nicely - I certainly wouldn't mind checking back in with the Harmons and the Antichrist down the road, but I'd love to see them bring their batshit crazy to another locale.

So, at this point, I guess only Constance comes back for Season 2 as a regular?  Maybe Moira?  They have a rather large psycho child problem to deal with!

I had the same reaction, I was waiting for them to gather around the dinner table and sing Day-O.

What a fun ending, but I am really glad they are going the anthology route. Murphy gave us a compressed season 2 in the finale. I am really glad he did that, he basically showed where it would lead and nullified any feelings of remorse i would feel next season with a whole new story.

This has the potential to be a truly great show. Basically an extended mini series each season, an actual story with a begining, middle and end. Still with the possibilities for past characters to show up and play a part. Reminds me of Stephen King in his hey dey,  unrelated or slightly related but existing in the same universe.

Unlike other horror/supernatural/mystery series which eventually become bogged down in their mythologies and cannot sustain the story (x-files etc.) This show has the potential to remain fresh and interesting. I look forward to season 2 with great anticipation.

So what over fifty Oscar winning actress will they snag for season two? Goldie Hawn would be fun.

I could see them going after someone like Elizabeth McGovern or Mary Elizabeth Mastriantonio.  Not quite as big as Lange, but still a name.  Besides, Lange will be back, I'm almost sure of it.

She HAS to be back. I loved the show, but she was on a different level than everyone else.

Did they ever explain why Moira exists in two forms?

No sir, they did not. Also, is the baby ghost a baby forever? Probably?

I believe so. Zachary Quinto said they were planning to smother the twins when they were about 1yr old, bacause that's when they're the cutest. They'd then have cute 1 yr old babies forever and ever and ever and ever....

Burnie's kids are still kids (and on fire, as far as that goes), Tate is still a teen, etc etc.

No one has changed since they died but Moira, though some seem to be more able to change their appearance than others.  Vivien isn't walking around with a nasty deflated belly for example.  Some of them seem to change their clothes while some don't.  Some kind hide the nasty wounds that killed them while others walk around with them.  Maybe it depends on how aware that you're a ghost.

Yeah, I'd assume the logic (besides just going with what looks cooler)  is that the ghosts can consciously alter their appearance. Most don't show signs of their cause of death. The ones that do either seem to be in denial (the doctor's wife) or enjoy the look (the twins).

The funny thing about Moira is that her "true" form is the hot maid. The older version is her creation to pretend that she's able to age.
