This noir'ed up version of the Universal monster just needed a little (Eck)hart.

So is Ryan Rotten still working on this? I miss that guy round here (best Creature Corner writer ever!)

I like the way this sounds. Its strange but I hope Eckhart and the filmmakers make this special.

I was wondering what was going on with this, considering it was announced a long time ago.  Here's hoping it turns out well................especially with Eckhart in the lead.

With perhaps, the exception of The Dark Knight, Eckhart has what I like to call the 'Denzel Washington Problem'. A fine, fine dramatic actor w/ terrible fucking taste/luck in genre projects. Also, as Brown notes in the article, the pedigree behind this project does not instill me w/ hope, despite a perfectly nifty premise. Stuart Beattie writing Collateral ultimately doesn't mean shit once a filmmaker like Michael Mann gets his hands on it.

So it's one more Frankenstein project in development. I wish one of these actually got made. Course, I've been marathoning Hammer's Frank output for October, so maybe I'm just in the mood. Aren't there like 4 others in the works?

And I didn't realize Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio shared credit with anyone else on the PIRATES flicks...

Assuming they are all still in-development.....

- I, Frankenstein

- The Shawn Levy/Max Landis project

- The Casebook of Victor Frankenstein, which Bekmambetov is attached to

- GDT's Frankenstein project that almost sounds like a sequel to Shelley's novel

- Neil Burger's modern day take on Bride of Frankenstein

The latter two are with Universal.  Anyway, I'm pretty sure there are AT LEAST 3 others that are in various stages of development at different studios.

SDP, I can always count on you to plug in your in-development info. Thanks!

Haha, no problem.  What can I say?  I have a really good memory and a lot of free time on my hands.............which is a somewhat dangerous combination when it comes to filling ones head with random info.
