Universal seems to forget a major problem in this: if they put a movie on VOD three weeks after theatrical release, it means that piracy too will have a perfect copy three weeks after release, instead of having to wait for the DVD release. If they have 5000 people paying for the VOD thing, that's one thing, but having 10 who put it on the net.. that can't help theatre or studio revenue. Especially if it's a movie like Tower Heist, that screams WORTH MONEY from the top of it's lungs.

Who in their right mind would pay $60 USD to watch TOWER HEIST at home slightly early? THE DARK KNIGHT RISES? Maaaybe. To try such a pricing scheme with pap like TOWER HEIST tells me they're not really serious about giving a shortened VOD window a shot
