I trIed to watch the original MM, but it just wasn't for me. I hope this one finally gets made though, it seems like a good role for Hardy. Plus, the talk of extensive practical car stunts kind of got me excited to see what they were cooking up over there down under

It makes me warm all over that my two new favorite actors are both contemporaries themselves and huge admirers of my all time favorite actor to boot.

A Hardy, Fassbender, Oldman film would send me a bit Beatlemaniac I'm afraid.

Fuckin A RD, that's a premier league dream team right there. I've finally seen what peeps be seeing in Ryan Gosling too so what Hardy said at the end there made every kind of sense to me.

I still like the idea I read here ages ago where Mel Gibson plays Max as a villain. He literally goes mad. And he could have that nifty beard!

Can I ask what turned you around? I'm still waiting for the penny to drop for me as far as Goslings concerned.

I remain skeptical. I love the Mad Max series (not the third so much) but too many old classics getting terrible sequels (Indy 4 comes to mind) just have me sour on rehashes.

Also while Gibson might be written off as irrelevant anyone coming back to watch this series will watch those films or avoid them based on him.

Doesn't bold well.

To me it was watching Driver and Crazy, Stupid, Love in close succession that did it. This weird smile of his in Driver did it for me. I always acknowledged him as a fine actor but that weird expression made him being my kind of actor click for me. And hearing the collected wistful sighs of the mostly female audience in Crazy, Stupid, Love as well as experiencing my first audible mass cinema seat moistening moment at his shirtless scene made it clear that this guy is now a star too. I swear I felt a girl sitting behind me jump a bit in her seat during that. It was actually a pretty unique movie moment.
