It's so fucking weird how studios select the new director golden boy. Companies setting up project SPECIFICALLY for Shawn Levy has nothing to do with his work with actors, or the way his movies appeal to everyone, but rather because of how much money they make. Except that there are so many directors who could handle this material who haven't had the hits Levy has because they haven't had access to the same material or actors. Are you telling me that Gil Kenan's "Gepetto" wouldn't make as much money as Shawn Levy's "Gepetto"?
Levy's one of those guys in Hollywood you could pull out of a hat. It's so weird how he would suddenly become a golden boy of sorts because he took two DREAM casts in the Night At The Museum movies and made antic fourth-rate Jimanji ripoffs.
