I was very excited to see the American Reunion movie. I saw American Pie just after college and remembered it was quite funny.
Jim, Michelle, Oz, Heather, Stifler reunite for their high school...
It's such a rewarmed NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST and bizarre to boot, but Mitch P's scenery chewing puts this square into guilty pleasure territory for me. I remember watching this late at night with my brother when we were teens and we loved it.
And the fact that it shares the namesake of a finger-banging hand gesture also makes it doubly awesome.
Pileggi is hilarious, he is. But the movie is still dreadful. As I said in my writeup, I recommend watching it just for the experience, but it has no rewatchability.
The People Under the Stairs is so much funnier.
Erix just sent me Siskel and Ebert's take on it. Explain to me how Siskel enjoyed this but hated The Silence of the Lambs so much.
I wonder if Craven still intends on producing a remake of this (and The People Under The Stairs)?
By the way, I find it absolutely hilarious that Craven bitches about Platinum Dunes remaking ANOES when Wes himself seems hellbent on remaking all of his own films.
EDIT - I'm starting to wonder if My Soul To Take was some retarded half-assed attempt at redoing Shocker, considering both share a body-jumping serial killer.
