I don't keep up much on kid's games (unless my kids are asking for them) but just read this article and found it interesting. My son has something kind of similar I guess, but it plugs into the PC through a USB cable and the game itself...sucks. What they're trying to do here makes a lot of sense for kids though.
We have a Wii and an Xbox. My son has other friends with one or the other, or a PS3, and the idea of those systems being exclusive from each other is an interesting barrier to try to cross. Storing game information on these figures (which I could easily see my son playing with anyhow) and then allowing the information to be read on any system? The idea that he could bring his figure to his friends house, and even though he saved the information on our Xbox he could then play that character on the PS3?
I'm not shilling this because I don't know if the game is any good. I'm just very interested in the technology of it and I think the ability to cross platform with saves could really push this forward especially with kids.
