We bought a zoo.. and then freed the animals - Page 2

The people who deal in exotic animals are a scum, and will be counted by future generations among the great villains of history. They're perpetrating an irrevocable holocaust on the natural world, driven not by some twisted ideaology, but rather a pathetically unthinking and soulless greed

This myopic avarice will by future generations - the inheritors of a poisoned, empty world - be considered an unforgivable crime, and the loss Earth's non human species will be felt with a sadness so deep and profound as to defy imagination for anyone living today

So, Kate, is this not the best time to tell you I'm thinking about buying an Emu?

Am I the only person that thinks Kate needs to permanently change her avatar?

You speak in a passion and rhetoric, that inspires, but causes me tremendous worry, because you don't seem to have all of you faculties about you. You'd make an absolutely terrifying politician, and I don't doubt you could easily band together a small, grass roots movement, of similarly minded people.

Haha my normal AVATAR is soon to return, and in case you guys didn't know, the orange frog is in fact an image of the GOLDEN TOAD, a lovely amphibian once native to the cloud forests of Costa Rica,  now believed extinct

I've been about animal awareness from day one on CHUD

PS Sean, I like doing my best to craft sentences that capture the emotion in my heart, it is exactly my desire to stir in people these same passions, so that when they think of the animals, they think of our responsibility to act as stewards for this planet, and safeguard all creatures great and small for future generations

When you have the "global warming is false"/"no need to worry, rapture is coming" side of the argument being taken seriously by large numbers of people, you need to step up your rhetoric to break through and get people's attention

"please won't you think of the animals?" won't cut it, when you have fox news ETC to tell people there is nothing to worry about

Or, in the case of dolphins, animal deliciousness.

I live in the Great State of Ohio Kate and I'm telling you if saw a live tiger in my yard I shoot the shit out of it. A younger me may have made it a fair fight and used a .22 but now I'm old it's a deer slug right to tiggers noodle. If a tiger had killed my loved one I'd have gone to the fucking zoo in Columbus and shot one out of spite.

Jack Hanna does not approve of this.

AWW!

There's a park I drive past on the way to work every day that has a boarding stable and it has one of those donkeys just happy nibbling away among all the horses.  We call him Bob because, well, he looks like one.

PEACEFUL COEXISTENCE:

GAUHATI, India, land where the sun was born -- A leopard that wandered into a city in eastern India went on a rampage, killing one man, swiping off part of another man's scalp and injuring three other people before authorities tranquilized it

Another non lethal big cat take down, even in the wake of a leopard rampage. Ohio, meanwhile, continues to prefer the "wipe out 1/77th of a critically endangered species total population first, ask questions later" approach

I'm not sure but I bet one leopard is easier to manage than a group of lions, and tigers, and bears. Oh my, Kate, you really just refuse to get it. Lets not forget that leopards are also creatures of the region, as opposed to the middle of Ohio, which does not have a natural tiger population.

Well, I'm sure the Leopard's happy he wasn't murdered, but I'm not so sure the victim's families will feel the same. You're so keen about the breadth of ideals you forget the import things in life are the details, like a person's life.

It's not often in my Great State of Ohio that we can say the government acted or reacted correctly and all be on the same page. I am proud of the fact that law enforcement didn't fuck around with bullshit animal rights PC and "shot the living shit" out of the animals that were loosed. I heard from a police officer friend that they even "shot the living shit" out of a couple of bunny rabbits as well for good measure that were causing trouble in the neighborhood. Screw the Tigers and Bears. I understand it's not the fault of the animals but fuck 'em anyway. Hooray for Homo Sapiens!!!!!!

The peaceful coexistence I described was that knowing the nature of the leopard - by stealing away it's forest home they'd opened themselves up to leopard attacks - the Indians didn't hunt it down and end it's life, they knocked it out and let it go so that both leopard and human could share the same small blue planet

Now I feel bad for all those lions and tigers who had their natural habitats in Ohio infringed upon.

Kate's driving me fucking nuts with her grand, arch, absolute statements. She writes like a progressively out of touch and paranoid politician who's about to have a horrible scandal blow up in their face.

Where did all the leopard print clothing come from that the native's are often depicted wearing? Marshall's? They let leopards die of old age, followed them around and when they dropped skinned them all the while thanking Gaia for the bitchin' smock. I guess you missed the episode of Bizarre Foods when Andrew Zimmer ate that leopard clitoris then huh? One good mauling Kate that's all you need to wake up.

As a child, a leopard ate my parents in front of me. The only good leopard is a dead one.

Leopardman doesn't kill. That's his one rule.

The thing about a leopard is he's got black eyes, like a dolls eyes... till he bites ya.
