Demo's out.

Was wondering when someone was going to start a thread on this. Demo is fucking fantastic - I honestly can't believe it. I'm already trying to pinch some pennies for this. It will be my first Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2. The video below, though, made me a believer:

Reviews are starting to peek out. All of them ecstatic, the only complaints being about the graphics being a bit behind the times. Which I'm fine with.

 

....this might be a day one purchase.

Bought this via Targets Buy 2 Get 1 Sale.

 

You know that scene at the end of Magnolia where John C. Reilly shows up at Melora Walters' apartment, saying he doesn't care how much she's been hurt in the past, the guy standing in front of her is amazing, and loves her, unconditionally, she just has to accept him and what he's offering? And she accepts by lighting up the screen with the first and only genuine smile of the film?

 

Yep. This game.

 

It's a fucking BLAST.

Was sent this game by the most generous Jacob Singer.  I was playing it all last night and came to a realization.

 

I've always sucked at Sonic games. 

 

Hahahahah.  But the game is so much fun!

Do you promise? Because I've been searching for the fabled 'Decent Modern Sonic Game' for so long and been horribly disappointed at every step of the way.

You know, I haven't played a Sonic game since the Dreamcast.  So I can't really compare it to any other modern Sonic games.  Justin would be able to tell you a lot more.

Guaranteed. I had fun with the Sonic portions of the Adventure games that didn't involve Sonic opening his goddamn mouth. I've hated everything else.

 

The fact that Sonic talks here too, stages from the games I've disliked show up here, and I still think its top 10 of the year material should tell you everything. Sega aced this.

See, I heard Sonic Colors was a nice step up as well, so I'm curious about your opinion on that one as well, Justin.

I've heard the same, and the level from that they ported over to Generations is slick as hell. Soon as I've got my Wii replaced, which should be this week, I'm giving it a spin.
