PETER CORNWELL’S HEART OF DARKNESS ADAPTATION

This description is actually making me angry. Don't get me wrong, it's not out of some sense of worship of the original book, although I like it. It just seems douchey for some reason.

I think that "some reason" is that the whole idea is completely ridiculous, bordering on plain stupid.

I mean, I won't lie, I kinda love that it is happening. I have a weak spot for adaptations of non-sci-fi material that suddenly become sci-fi. And hey, at least they aren't remaking APOCALYPSE NOW.

This just seems so stereotypically Hollywood in every way. Like something you would see in a parody movie.

Agreed with all of the above.

And I'll probably go see it if it gets made.

The only truly depressing thing about this is that some pretty good actor is going to be forced to toil at the lead.

Doesn't sound very compelling. APOCALYPSE commented on events that still were pretty fresh and contemporary. Setting the story 'in space' seems pointless. Why set it there other than it has not been done before? Unless there is a compelling reason, I'm not on board

PS I'd much prefer a straight up period piece in colonial Africa. That could be interesting

A science fiction epic has a greater chance of being profitable than a period piece set in colonial Africa.  Sad but true.
