I'm a well known evangelist for the promise of MoCap tech, and I feel that CLU was the most remarkable character I saw on screen in 2010. A true revolution
With that said, this project doesn't make sense on any level. You CLU someone in order to do something with the character or setting you wouldn't be able to do practically. Here it seems like nothing more than a pointless gimmick, used in service of a story that could be told better and more cheaply if it were just shot like a normal film. Hollywood should focus on storytelling and movie making fundamentals, not pointlessly indulgent special effects
