Not the worlds biggest Finney fan, though he did good work in GATHERING STORM. If he were being brought on board as a new M I'd be ok (I'm keen to see Dench leave, she started strong but has become, in the words of another Chewer, a clueless mother hen character), but if it's just for some smaller role, I'd say he's not necessarily my top choice for someone I'd Iike to see in BOND

 

Oh well, still enormously excited for BOND 23. November 2012 can't get here fast enough!

This is great news. Finney is awesome, and I can definitely see him playing the Minister of Defense role that was last seen in the Roger Moore/Timothy Dalton era. Actually when I think about it, Finney these days reminds me a good deal of Bernard Lee, the original (and still the best) M. I'm really excited about the cast they have lined up here.

I would love it if Finney played it like his character in Drive.

"No, Mr. Bond. Any plans you have, put them on hold. For the rest of your life, I expect you'll be watching over your shoulder."

Thus marks the first time someone confused Albert Finney and Albert Brooks. That either says something really good for Finney, or something really bad for Brooks.
