Many species depend on the occasional heavy rains in order to endure the droughts that follow, but I am definitely sad progress has stalled on this one. Between Hardy and the rumored extravaganza of practical car destruction action, I feel like this could have been really fun

I hope it still happens one day... and considering climate change isn't going away any time soon, we may well get our wish and see Australia turned back into a wasteland (just kidding, Australia, I wish you guys the best!)

Miller is talking about the weather problems in 2010 , not 2011. That's why the shoot was delayed last year. In fact I think CHUD wrote about this about a year ago.

Last I heard they were planning to shoot in Africa. Hopefully they choose Auz instead. Raindog can update us on the weather front.

That is true! I thought this article was in reference to continuing weather issues. Glad to hear things might now be shaping up for the production!

Yeah, South Africa is the back-up location and I'm pretty sure they have already shipped the cars there.  That said, "supposedly" the South African locations are experiencing uncharacteristic heavy rains as well.  Hardy seems in love with this project enough to not bolt, but I really hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Anyway, I think Miller just doesn't want to jinx himself and outright make a shooting schedule public....................though Hardy keeps saying they are looking towards a Spring start date.

My goodness, I didn't know there are still plans for a "Mad Max" reboot. At least its not a Universal Pictures project, then it would be dead.

So just adapt to the rains and ad-lib an ending where Max is the Kwisatz Haderach. What's the problem?

Or just work in some Waterworld references.
