BREAKING DAWN Hate Thread - Page 3

All of these clips have convinced me that watching this film with a Spanish dub might be a more than worthwhile endeavor. It works insanely well.

It does give the film a surreal quality.

I laughed when I referred to Breaking Dawn as film.

"Bella, estas embarazada con mi nino vampiro? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

All it really does is transform the movie into an expanded telenovela episode.

Only far more insane.

I prefer to think that it was always an expanded telenovela episode; the Spanish just makes it more evident.

Also I can't stop watching the video and holy uncanny valley that CGI baby. It's looking into my soul, but inspires something far more terrifying than "imprinting" in me.

I'm pretty sure the "Edward is an old pervert who seduces a teenage girl" has been well known for a long time by this point. It is pretty damn funny.

So he's basically Count Wooderson?

Wait..which one is the Confederate officer?

And how many fucking vampires seriously faught for the Confederacy in pop culture?

No dice. Jacob is going to keep it in his pants until the baby hits the age of consent.   And now I must leave this thread, because no way am I busting my 5,000th post cherry on TWILIGHT.

The backbreaking scene is an amazing out of nowhere what the fuck. I'm almost whistful thatI'll never be able to see that again for the first time. Does anyone by chance know the weekend take?

When the trailer for the movie showed a bed breaking, I thought to myself (in a Homer Simpson voice), "They should call this movie BREAKING BED!"

That didn't prepare me for the backbreak!

Considering how much breaking Bella goes through, I started to think: "If her name was actually Dawn, the title would make more sense!"

Then her name would be Dawn Swan.

I feel silly.

Oh, the movie's estimated take for the weekend is $139.5 million.  A tad shy of New Moon's (the most successful opening for the series so far) take.

Come on, he will probably just become a wolf and jump her leg daily until that day comes.

Also, dear lord....the premiere madness:

This turned into a Breaking Dawn LOVE thread. I keep thinking about the little CG baby that brought magic into my life. I'd never tell people to spend money on it, but this is great b-movie cinema folks. Jacob imprinted on my heart.

I can only assume that just out of the frame of each of these, is Roddy Piper suplexing Keith David while holding a pair of sunglasses.

Speaking of Keith David, was his phone not working when they were casting Jacob? Would have improved the films 1000%.

I was just going to express this sentiment. Have to say, I kind of loved this film. Having read how bonkers the book was, I have to admit I was quite taken aback by some of the imagery they heap onto unsuspecting preteens in this one. My god, the teeth C-section is so strangely surreal and evocative. Edward biting all over Bella's dead body desperately trying to turn her into a vampire is out of an alternate-dimension Cronenberg or Brian Yunza film, no one can convince me otherwise. I will get a lot of flack for this, but the moment when Jacob collapses to his knees after imprinting Renesmee is such a simple, beautiful image, no matter the out of whack thematics. A strange blend of Sirkian melodrama an all-out body horror, this is a surprisingly brave studio film, sneaking in quite a few subversive elements. Also, Carter Burwell deserves some kudos for a grand score that perfectly accompanies the madness. The film has major problems, and quite a few slow lulls, but I can honestly say that there are a hand-full of scenes in this which I will remember forever. Great Hollywood cheese.

Parents - beware the creepy old guy with the "Team Victoria" sign.  No you don't stand out of the crowd at ALL do you?

Say, if I should start following Emma Stone's public appearances with a sign saying "I LOVE YOU EMMA I WANT YOU PLEASE LOVE ME," would that be frowned upon? I mean other than a possible knife-fight between me and Jim Carrey?

Well, on the upside, it might be the first thing Jim Carrey's done for a while that might be worth watching.

The love that these fans express is slightly disconcerting. I'm even more creeped out by the girl in the picture saying "Robert, words cannot express how much I love you." Jesus sweetheart, dial it down a bit.

Either the Team Victoria guy is batshit or it's one of the most brilliant plays to score with chicks we're likely to ever see.

The single best line of dialogue in "Near Dark" (1987) for starters.

I can't believe I understood every word of that even though I don't speak Spanish.

Question though, would it be "nina vampira" or something like that or do you default to masculine until you know the gender specifically (and at that point they didn't know, is that the case?).

Well yeah, Near Dark's really obvious and something that instantly comes to mind. But from Fevre Dream to True Blood there seem to be an awful lot of vampires who thought fighting for the south was a fairly bang-up idea.

I guess it makes sense in explaining the Cullens blinding whiteness.

Does that girl's sign say she flew over 3 million miles from Venezuela to go to the premier?

3348.42 miles, I think.  Not enough digits to be in the millions, though I'm sure it felt like 3 million miles for her.

If I was a cast member in this movie, I think I'd probably have a nightmare every night about being ballgagged in one of these fan's basements.

They just seem the type.

One of the vampires in Once Bitten fought for the south. He had the Confederate flag in his coffin. That flick is very different from Twilight in that getting laid saves the protagonist from being damned forever.

lmao, this almost makes me to want to shell out a couple bucks to see this so called "birth" scene... but I think I'll pass

A California man, Brandon Gephart, was rushed to the hospital after getting sick while watching the film's birth scene. The screening ended when paramedics arrived to help Gephart. "He was convulsing, snorting, trying to breathe," Gephart's girlfriend told CBS.

A Salt Lake City man also suffered a similar seizure while watching "Breaking Dawn." "I didn't really remember what happened after that," he told ABC. "I think I blacked out. According to [my wife] I was shaking and mumbling different noises."

Medical experts said that the film's birth scene -- which features red, white and black images -- could have triggered episodes of photosensitive epilepsy. "It's like a light going off because it hits your brain all at once," Dr. Michael G. Chez explained. "The trouble with theaters is that they're so dark, the light flashing in there is more like a strobe light."

Also, why pay at all? Covertly filmed snippets of the highlights from new cinema releases are exactly what youtube was made for.
