I went to see the first one in theaters, and even I am wishing this series would just die. The last one was literally one of the worst big budget films I've ever seen. Just mind boggling terrible and uninteresting

Princess Kate, While I am not sure I am going to see this next installment of Racoon City's...EEEEEEEvil Residents, I hope that Ms. Jovovich remains an action lead for the next...MILLAnium or so!

She's one of those beautiful women I wish wouldn't waste her career on shit movies so I could actually watch her in movies without having to waste suffer through junk. I don't think she's been in a movie worth watching in ten years, and the last one was "Zoolander", in which she didn't even really look like herself, because she was covered in excessive tacky make-up. As far as I can tell, the best movie she's starred in is still "The Fifth Element". That's sad. I watched some of the first "Resident Evil" on TV and thought it was pretty stupid. I can't believe how many sequels that drivel has got.

I do like her and wish her success in the future, I just hope that she moves on to other characters. The RE series has become just awful (and this is coming from someone who has read like six of the RE novelizations)

She was in STONE with Norton and DeNiro

Yeah, and how good was "Stone"? De Niro, Jovovich, and Norton are all actors I like a lot who hadn't made anything very impressive for awhile. I had high hopes for that one, but it didn't sound like it was quite the home run that cast would suggest. It got some mildly positive reviews I guess, but didn't sound like anything really special. I always hope for greatness when people like De Niro and Norton are involved in a movie.

It was a middling drama, interesting enough but ultimately unmemorable. I guess my point was that she's still out there doing good work, and talented people still want to be involved with her

I thought the first was an acceptable time-waster.  The second was awful.  The third was surprisingly entertaining, though still nowhere near being a great film.  I skipped out on the fourth one in theaters and I'm glad I did.  I was finally convinced to watch it on home video and absolutely hated it.  Not only was it horrible, but it was incredibly boring as well.  I had to physically make myself pay attention to what was going on.  Before it hit theaters, the intention was that it would be the final entry and that they next film (whenever it came along) would be a reboot more in line with the games.  The problem is that everyone went to see it and it made too much money to give up on the current series.  Thanks America, you fucked us again!

I'm beyond done with this franchise.

A Perfect Getaway wasn't bad and Faces In The Crowd seems like it could be decent.  I'd say that on the whole her non-RE films are way more worthwhile than anything that shitty franchise has given us.  I'll take Ultraviolet over ALL of the Resident Evil movies any day of the week and I don't really have a great fondness for that film.  She at least seems to be trying to pick decent projects for herself, outside of starring in whatever shit movie her husband is making at the time.  I'm honestly shocked that he didn't have her as the lead in AVP or toss her a role in Death Race.

And for my money, The Fifth Element is one of the best films of the '90s.

The best thing that could have happened for Jovovich would have been for RE: Afterlife to only perform decently at the box office, giving her an out and the rest of us at least the potential of getting a decent RE film someday.  Like I said above though, the general audience had to go and fuck it up for everyone.

The meeting of minds above is unparalleled.

In fairness to the US, the fourth movie only performed modestly there (about $60 million gross). It was the international gross that was absolutely enormous and propelled the global total to the vicinity of $300 million.

I ... uh ... may have contributed to that latter situation.
